Thanks for such a comprehensive essay on Remeron or Mirtizapine as we call it in the UK. The detail on how it affects the reward center in the brain is very helpful. Was on 30mg daily for almost 2 years for anxiety and migraines. Tapered down to 15mg for x2 weeks, then 7.5mg for x1 week and now on day 4 without any. Its difficult. Sleep is ok but have a constant headache, nausea and lethargic. Its hard but the side effects arent worth it.

I hope your channel grows and people listen. Love the information you provide. I tried this drug. Only 1 pill but side effects were horrible. You may not like benzos but I find after many many years of using them the side effects are much less. No dry eyes or eye floaters. No weight gain or eating things I normally wouldn't. Heart issues and back pain are awful. Never had any issues with benzos compared to any psych drugs. I am in fact anti anti depressants. I was prescribed seroquel 600 mgs for sleep. I nearly died. Pancreas attacks and my GB was removed. Basically I was drunk and eating leaving the stove on and fridge open. This drug made me feel just like seroquel. After stopping the seroquel cold turkey my eye floaters went away. 1 pill of mirtazapine and already have an eye floaters again. Heart issues. I will never understand why ppl take these drugs. Certainly takes our individuality away.

I was on 15mg for 5 years. Ended up at urgent care after only tapering off for a month cause the nausea, dizziness, impaired kidney/liver function were not fun. Now I’m on month 5 of coming off it and at the end of the month I should be free from it! Sleep hasn’t been a huge issue for me but not being able to eat due to the nausea sure has!

I took 15mg Mertazapine for 5 years. I stopped taking it exactly 3 months ago after advice from a pharmacist to reduce my dose over about a month before stopping. I had never heard of tapering to discontinue till recently and now wish I had. I have had insomnia from day 1. I am experiencing brain zaps and a weird sensation throughout my central nervous system which I cannot explain but the sleep is the main issue though. I generally get to sleep okay but wake between 2:30 and 3am - pop wide awake and just cannot get back to sleep. Occasionally I lay in bed wide awake all night. I’ve tried magnesium glycanate supp’s, valerian supps and Nytol (antihistamine). The Nytol works but leaves me a massive headache the entire next day and extreme dizziness when I sit to stand. I’ve even tried a low histamine diet as I eat a lot of soy products being vegetarian but this didn’t help either. My GP has been a complete waste of time and basically implied it is all in my head and that mertazapine withdrawal shouldn’t affect you when it’s all out of your system in a week or two. From reading and youtube I understand the cause of the withdrawal symptoms but cannot find anything that helps my sleep problem and I am not willing to restart Mertazapine and slowly taper. No way! I’d love to know how long I can expect this horrendous withdrawal to last as it doesn’t seem to be improving whatsoever at 3 months.

early intervention with natural therapies work. left too late, the meds can turn ship around (after enduring awful side effects) and after at least 6 months transition off to natural can hold it there but not always! some brains just keep going back to how they were before and if we knew what it needed to stop that, it probably wouldn't.
@AlternativetoMedsCenter
@AlternativetoMedsCenter Жыл бұрын
Addressing underlying factors help drastically. Your brain and your body are not separate things, they are one. If you are feeding your brain properly, supporting the nuerochemicals through supplementation , detoxing heavy metals and other neurotoxic poisoning, then it is possible to feel a lot better than you did before starting a medication. Protracted withdrawal can have symptoms last for years. Supporting your body and brain during the recovering portion is a very important aspect of what we do.

Very informative video mate. I am researching this drug as I have gone through a 3.5year withdrawal so far!!!!!!. From "only'' a H1 antagonist!!!!! *Probably* Not too far from being functional again. I was on 4mg-10mg for one year and was told this low does would not cause long term withdrawal. AHahahhahahaha What a load of BS that was, In fact the low doses are harder to withdraw off because of the sedation. Many Doctors just don't listen, and seem to deflect from any claim that links injury to the med.🤦‍♂ useful drug if used strategically or short term use.
