Interesting… I’d argue my experience was the opposite with sertraline specifically - it numbed all inhibitory control of “signing off permanently” ☠️- so much so I’ve had to come off it. Literally had no rational inhibition when on it - in fact, it seemed like the best idea.

Curious. When someone withdraws from meds in general… will their initial symptoms just go away? I’m trying to understand what happens after the successful withdrawal? Are they just healed now?!

Supplements can also be very harmful , l listened to chiropractor and got severely injured. I am very sick now. Worst decision of my life to follow his advice. They only look to make money on these preparations. But it turns out that he died few years ago, I don’t know if he was taking anything though. But pharmaceuticals are also bad ,so pick your poison or don’t take anything

I was on 15mg for 5 years. Ended up at urgent care after only tapering off for a month cause the nausea, dizziness, impaired kidney/liver function were not fun. Now I’m on month 5 of coming off it and at the end of the month I should be free from it! Sleep hasn’t been a huge issue for me but not being able to eat due to the nausea sure has!

My daughter suffered from CIP cannabis induced psychosis & was hospitalized and put on Risperadol claiming she had schizophrenia which I’m certain she doesn’t. The exact same thing happened to two of her close friends, the first put on the same medication given the same diagnosis, which I’m certain she doesn’t have either, never had mental health issues and no one in their family does either. The second friend didn’t hv psychosis but debilitating anxiety and put on an anxiety med. The second friend took 5 years to finish college and is now living a normal productive life after finding a medication that took care of the anxiety with minimal to no side effects. Her friend on Risperadol kept smoking pot and cigarettes and has never really returned to baseline bcuz the smoking and the meds just created a situation where’s she’s a ghosts of her former self. My daughter suffers bad side effects of Risperadol and we’ve tried no less than 5 times to wean her from this drug which we were not informed of the side effects or that she’d have to take it forever until we brought her back for a follow up appt otherwise we would not hv agreed. She was 18 so they didn’t ask me or her dad with no concern for how this medication could and did upend her life. She’s gained 30 lbs every time we tried to wean her and she immediately start losing weight but as the meds leave her systems “withdrawl psychosis” would happen and it would get so bad the only way to stop it was to regrettably put her slowly back on the medication. It’s been a 8 year nightmare. We visited ATMC but could not afford the $65k to send her and now that she’s been on this horrible medication for 8 years I hv no idea if she can even be weaned off this medication now. She went from 117-200 lbs. over the course of 8 years trying to be free from Risperadol. We tried to sue the hospital for putting her on this without proper warning and the statute of limitations expired after 1 year. It took years to figure out what had actually happened when we took her to the ER suffering from CIP when we didn’t know she smoked pot at all. Pot derailed my daughters life and it’s criminal that young ppl today aren’t warned of potential dangers like we are regarding cigarettes 😒 we totally understand why it cost what it does to hv someone be treated at ATMC and insurance rarely covers it for OBVIOUS reasons. I often feel like we did a disservice to her trying to wean her at home, if we had just left her on 1 mg with the initial weight gain she would not had suffered the consequences of continually attempting to get off a medication she never should have been put on!🤬

Eighteen years ago I was prescribed seroquel and was dependent on the drug so much so that when I stopped my brain chemistry had been permanently changed and I have been suffering from rebound insomnia for eighteen years. I was not warned and I was not being monitored. ECT or rTMS or Vagus Nerve Stimulation are the procedures offered to restore the brain. I really don't like any of those options.

I have been prescribed Seroquel for the last 10 years. I want off of it completely. The weight gain, and messing with my blood sugar is bad. I went from 300mg at bedtime down to 100mg. It's been rough. I will adapt. I am done with Seroquel.

Trintellix has helped me out in so many ways, no side effects did try other meds like zoloft and buspar only made sick or worse off so the mechanism of action is different to person to person, and i recommend first doing natural approaches and therapy before dabling into medication Btw the video wasn't useful, a bunch of wrong information

Here's a detailed list of the neurotransmitters affected by Trintellix: Serotonin (5-HT): Inhibits serotonin reuptake by blocking the serotonin transporter (SERT) Acts as an agonist at the 5-HT1A receptor Acts as a partial agonist at the 5-HT1B receptor Acts as an antagonist at the 5-HT3 receptor Acts as an antagonist at the 5-HT1D receptor Acts as an antagonist at the 5-HT7 receptor Norepinephrine (Noradrenaline): May indirectly increase norepinephrine levels in the prefrontal cortex through its actions on serotonin receptors Dopamine: May indirectly increase dopamine levels in the prefrontal cortex through its actions on serotonin receptors Acetylcholine: May indirectly increase acetylcholine levels in the prefrontal cortex through its actions on serotonin receptors Histamine: May indirectly increase histamine levels in the prefrontal cortex through its actions on serotonin receptors Glutamate: May indirectly affect glutamate release through its actions on serotonin receptors GABA: May indirectly affect GABA release through its actions on serotonin receptors It's important to note that while Trintellix primarily affects serotonin directly, its effects on other neurotransmitters (norepinephrine, dopamine, acetylcholine, and histamine) are thought to be indirect, resulting from its actions on various serotonin receptors

I just got a diagnose of epilepsy as two different types of seizures. Tell me how can I get off this stuff and not have seizures and not get like a crazy lady. It does help my excitement calm down. I have way too much electricity in my brain and some electricity in my heart. I hate these seizures. I want to be normal if that's even a real definition. 😥

Rexulti, 1 mg, I tapered off over a few months after being on it for 4 years for depression and anxiety. Upon tapering down, i had what i believe to be restless leg syndrome, I became so depressed, riddled with anxiety, pain in my back. I still have good and bad days 2 months being completely off. My sleep is still disrupted by a creepy crawling, painful feeling in only my ankle. It was previously both legs and arms. I am at a loss whatvto do. Im still on zoloft 150 mg. Will all of this subside? Is it dopamine withdrawal. My prescriber tried stsrting me on Vraylar, which I refused. My dr tried prescribing parkinson med, another dopamine drug which i refused.

My son has been on the Abilify injections 400mg for over a year. He changed psychiatrist and his new one actually listened to him and agreed it wasn’t working. So she decided not to give him his monthly dose and instead started him on oral Haldol 5mg. Also took him off klonopine and started him on Ativan .5mg. This all happened 6/10/24. It has now been one week and it’s been the week from hell! He was due for his Abilify injection today. All his symptoms are elevated! Shouldn’t she have tapered him off instead of quitting cold turkey and adding a different antipsychotic? I can only imagine that all the chemicals in his brain are just going haywire! My heart hurts for him! 😢
