I was pleasantly surprised by this format. Felt closer to a low powered tinkerers cube, where the games go long and are centered around out valuing your opponent. You definitely get rewarded for drafting well, and the high synergies make for skillful games - rather than getting attacked by a bunch of 2 drops for lethal on turn 5

Man oh man though, pirates are in another league of their own in this.. And the "plan" is very much 1-3 drops and cheap artifacts bumrush..

It's WILD how little some of the people drafting this know about good artifacts. I got PASSED a Retrofitter Foundry in pack 3. Who the hell passes that card? It's first pickable in vintage cube, let alone in a format like this.

It is a much more powerful combo piece in vintage cube. But still a strong value card even on its own

@@Kazooieandbanjo sure, but it's still a great value engine in a regular draft like this, and it's a lot easier to abuse on a turn to turn basis because of all of the servos and thopters running around

@@NumotTheNummyYT no, it was the opponent that put one land to the bottom with the Lonis clue sac for 1, and you did note that you were not going to sac the map after it, so I guess you thought it was on the bottom of your library, not theirs

It was on the bottom of Kenji's library, cards not cast with Lonis go on the bottom and it targets opponents

standard 1500, but it's also a standard payout (keep all the cards from the draft, plus up to 6 packs and 2200 gems based on total wins). So still a pretty mediocre payout, but not uniquely more so than any of the other premier draft formats.
