Great video, thanks for uploading. I did have a hard time figuring out how to close the shutter on mine. It was stuck in the open position and you can rotate the brass piece on the bottom to close it. Thanks again!

The best solution is to use a spray can of Servisol Super 10. This is a switch cleaning lubricant, says it on the tin. Spray it on, wind the lever, press the shutter, and keep repeating. Dab a tissue paper gently onto the gears and cogs and just generally clean the dirt build up. Keep spraying until the tissue comes out clean, no more black grease. This exercise will probably need doing every 5 years, but hey, that's good going. Enjoy the Pentax 6X7(the first one without mirror lock up), 6x7 MLU, 67 and 67II. Fantastic camera

Hello, you mean spraying it near the shutter. Without taking camera to parts. Or just the servisol will be better than alcohol?

Hello, maybe the problem is that contact too ? : every lithium battery i put goes down so fast.. as fast as the mirror goes and stays up several times.. thanks

I just bought a Pentax 6x7 with MLU. Occasionally, the mirror gets stuck half way and I need to reset the camera. Than 10 shots alright, and another stuck mirror halfway. Sometimes five times in a row with stuck mirror. It also happened when I pushed the "MLU" button. So I'm guessing it has nothing (or less) to do with the shutter times? Is the problem the same as in this video? I have no 6V battery, but I taped 4x LR44 together and it works. It works also in another Pentax 67. So the battery does not seem to be the problem.

hello. I have one issue with my camera's shutter curtain, it's Canon FT. The curtain won't go down when I set 1s as the shutter speed ( but it works perfectly fine with other shutter speed options), and I have to wait for about 10 seconds or more for it to go down (sometimes it doesn't and I have to change the shutter speed so it will go down). Thx for watching) I'm really not sure you can find the glue which I used. It is the glue known in Russia as Момент Кристалл.

Хочу у вас спросить не было ли у вас вот что: мне досталась камера где тоже зеркало залипало, но бывало, что оно залипало очень странным образом - не в момент спуска, а в момент взвода затвора зеркало тоже поднималось одновременно с ним и оставалось в верхнем "залипшем" положении.

@@GreatWaterCircus I have checked passport of glue and it consists acetone 40-60%, ethyl acetate 20-40% and 2-(2H-Benzotriazole-2-yl) - 4,6- ditertpentylphenol - 0,1- < 1 % . On the basis of polyurethane. Hope it helps you.

Hi Alex, my P67 has the mirror-stuck issue as well, but on the contrary to yours, mine get stuck at B shutter. Do you think I can do the same as what you did to fix it?

Hi Ryan, B shutter mode is manual mode. It means while you press down and hold shutter button the mirror is on top position and the shutter is open. As I understand, on your camera the mirror stucking goes after you release your finger from the button. The mirror remains on top position, the shutter is open. First I'd start from changing the battery on the new one. Then cleaning contacts of the camera like on the video but I can't guarantee it will 100% help you. P67 is old camera and dirty contacts may be not the only reason of mirror-stuck issue.

Hi... after performing this repair exactly as you demonstrated i put battery back in and pressed shutter button and the mirror went up and stayed up... magnet not making contacts and cloth shutter open. Taking out battery and replacing it does nothing and i cant figure out how to get the mirror down! Please help!

Если вы осматриваете собственноручно, то как вы поняли из моего видео нужно обязательно проверить работоспособность всех выдержек. Потом я бы проверил целостность зеркала, экрана и цепочки диафрагмы. Далее, проверил бы не окислены ли контакты батарейки и работу экспонометра. Было бы совсем здорово отснять тестовый ролик пленки.

Towards the front on the camera, in the direction of the lens? That is what I was trying but it seems stuck near the little silver lock that holds the prism in.

Yes towards the front on the camera, in the lens direction, not to top. Please check all removed screws. Try to understand what place hold the panel. I remember, I made a little effort to pull it.

I also haven't been able to get the left upper cover off. Even after removing the 4 screws, it's still stuck on the silver prism lock button. Have you had any luck bassl0va?

Добрый день! Попытался по вашему описанию отремонтировать камеру, но хоть убей, не понимаю, как разобрать эту пипку, которая пентапризму держит. из-за неё не получается боковую крышку снять

Здравствуйте! На 0:50 минуте есть схема. Там указаны все винты которые нужно открутить и которые не нужно. Проверьте внимательно. Открутите все нужные винты, поверните аппарат к себе передней стороной и тяните панель на себя. Не вверх, в сторону пентапризмы, а вперед, параллельно креплению объектива. Как я помню, панель снимается немного туговато, но без тяжелых усилий.

Кроме тех винтов, которые указаны, больше других нет. Откручивайте их и тяните панель на себя. Если трудно поддается, попробуйте отверточками аккуратно разжать щель между панелью и стойкой пентапризмы. Посмотрите внимательно, может что-то забыли открутить.
