I love that Dexter has once again found his person! It’s a very special thing and people who don’t have dogs don’t understand how each of them have their personalities and quirks just like each of us. They are so precious. Letting the babies work things out is good as long as no one gets hurt and it sounds like Dexter did just that. He’s a spunky little guy. I have 2 beagle mixes who look similar, and in many ways are similar; but my female is higher strung than her father who has lab in him which makes him more laid back. Her mother was a Mountain Feist and they are very high energy, high strung dogs. Thankfully she’s calmer than her mother. Koal lets CoCo take the lead most of the time, but let her or the cat push him too far and he lets them know pretty quick he’s had enough of their shenanigans. Can you tell he’s my favorite. Don’t get me wrong, I love them all, I just have a bond with Koal that is hard to put into words. Plus CoCo is more demanding and needs me, which is fine; but Koal is my comfort and my calmness. He always knows when I need his love and support and he quietly walks up to me and lens against me. From the moment I saw a picture of his sweet face standing in the back of a pickup truck, I knew he was supposed to be mine. I had to go through an adoption process and his 10 siblings were being snapped up one by one. By the time we were approved to adopt him, it was only him and his brother left. His brother was a tricolor beagle and he didn’t pay me any mind at all; but Koal and I connected immediately. My husband was still talking to the lady adopting them out and Koal and I were cuddling in the backseat of the car. My husband is gone now and having Koal during that traumatic loss was a lifeline.

get you some pipe insulation for your window to let the cable out and keep a seal to keep the heat or cold in, the split in the insulation will fit over the window and let you rol it up to make a seal with the cable safly in the mix

Hi Kev, so we have a pit mix (big dog) the sweetest one ever! My grand babies could climb, pull, lay and whatever and he would just lay there and take it. If someone tries to ever hurt one of the babies I feel sorry for them because he will tear that person up and this is his only aggressive behavior. We have a whippet mix and she growls at everything never bites or anything she just always growls. 😂 we also have a tiny chihuahua my grandson got from Santa. He is the funny one with all the personality and he stands up to the big ones with no thought. All our pets have different personalities and it is fun to see the difference. My 14 yo cat just past and devastated me she was my little love ( Ellie Mae Mae ) we also called her mama. I don’t know why I rambled on but there it is. Thanks for talking about safety. Some KZfaqrs spend a lot of air time lecturing about how there's no safety issues at all and people are just living in fear. I have also had some scary and sketchy experiences over the years and I think it was totally related to drug users and being in the wrong place. You can't get away from it, even miles down a forest road. And yes, I agree, it's getting worse unfortunately. Good tips!

So Dexter put her in the pecking order? He's so small! But, just like in our home, we have four dogs, two pitbull mixed and a medium sized corgi mix and our little lady controls the house. She's a terrier and yorkie mix and she's the boss.

I'm in Illinois and I am aware of at least 3 attacks in Quartzsite this past season, 2 of them with injuries. So, even with other folks around it is not always safe. I agree with you, err on the side of caution because you just never know. As this year progresses I see it only getting worse and I am grateful to still be in my sticks and bricks for now. Praying I don't have to go on the road. Glad to see Dexter is getting along so well. Awesome to let them figure out their boundaries. It needed to be done. Well, you could wash clothes the way my folks did when I was growing up. Draw well water, boil it in a caldron over an outside fire, put it in a tin tub with some laundry soap, toss in the whites or light first, stir back and forth with a smooth hardwood stick, use a washboard for stubborn stains, transfer each item to the cold rinse water with that stick and stir till the soap is rinsed out. Then lift each piece out and wring the water out. Hang to dry. Our clothes were always clean. We got an electric wringer washer when I was 6, but we still used a rinse tub of cold water. We had the luxury of wringing out the clothes when the came out of the washer tub and the rinse. Still drew water from the well. Still heated the water on the wood stove. Still hung them out to dry, but it was a marvel to me.

"Trouble is trouble." Always know our environment; have protection & know how to use it. I really appreciate u telling the truth about safety, so many nomads won't share this type of experience. We have a wheelie bar 2, it's been helpful quite a few times, I'm not yet as experienced an rv driver as u r. Good for Dexter! 😂 We JUST "rescued" a new Beagle, Hannah whose 5 years old. And here at our stix-n-brix...is our sons 110 lb German Shepherd, Zar...a sweet, gentle giant. However, Ms. Hannah finished her breakfast 1st & sauntered towards Zar's bowl (he eats much slower), and as she got close...he ler out a (non-aggressive) low growl, she made an IMMEDIATE u-turn.😂 I guess in their short "conversation" he CLARIFIED his position. 😅 Stay aware... LUCRETIA

Great little update, yep, the farther you go out into the boonies, the rascals get bolder. Nice to see the wolf pack sort out its pecking order. I know they are expensive, maybe a used one from an rv surplus yard would be cheap? But our combo washer-dryer has worked very well for our full time RV living now going on 14 years. Yes, small loads, but we don't need big loads, and very efficient both water and power. Once every 5 years or so we need to run a factory recommended series of steps to clear the 'cat' hair from the unit, but it works like charm. the only things we don't wash in it are two very large, thick, sports blankets, do them when visiting family. Keep on truckin . . .

Those mouse's might be bigger than little Dexter. Maybe watch to see NO MOUSE'S carry him away. ❤❤❤❤❤

Sadly, you are RIGHT about the "rich boys in pickup trucks" causing trouble. I live in south GA and my brother-in-law has a big farm and some land. He caught a "rich boy" deer hunting on his property without permission. He was even using their deer stand! The nerve! Dexter is the cutest little thing! He is getting better and better...I LOVE IT!

I come from a "Stand your ground" and a "constitutional carry" state. I go to the range regularly and have won marksmanship awards. If you're going to own firearms, learn the safety first then how to shoot accurately. I use a silhouette target because nobody was ever attacked by a bullseye..😂 There is nothing more dangerous that someone with a gun who doesn't know how to use it properly.

Little Dexter is a Daddy's boy.

I had two little dogs that were a mixture if Jack Russell terrier and Chi-wow-wow. Brother and sister from the same litter. The male looked like a Jack Russell in size and shape. The female was half his size and looked all Wow-Wow. One day the little female decided to take the bigger male's dinner and she bullied her way into his dish and ate his dinner. The next day she hurried through her bowl of food and jumped over to take her brother's dinner like she did the day before. Long story shorter ... he must have thought about it all night because he didn't hesitate to go full blown terrier on her. It was a loud, rambunktous, one sided fight that only lasted a few seconds but I was relieved to find nobody got hurt. From then on everybody ate their own dinner ... no problems and with fine table manners. God bless the Woof Pack.🙂👍

We were in a campground where a child held a rifle out of the back window of a car pointed at RV’s as his parents was driving around, nobody knows whether or not if it was real or not because it looked real. That campground is u der new ownership and has gates in and out! We can tell you horror stories about kids climbing up back ladders and running across Rv roofs, playing with the up and down buttons on the jacks on trailers,and some parents encouraging them to break into rv’s

That’s is so cool that Dexter is the boss. You would expect our Yorkie/Shih Tsu mix to be the boss but our Yorkie is the boss. But he is smart enough to not push the cat too far.

We have also acquired a little property in western New Mexico, mch for the same reasons that you have stated. It is fun on the road, but we like having our place to go to. Exit plans are always wise to be thinking about. The Woof pack is doing well!
