I love to watch fishing videos. My husband took me on a fishing trip with some friends once. He wanted to cheer me up after I had a miscarriage. I caught one fish that was twice the size of everyone else's and I threw it back and I never went again, lol.

Mutton snapper my favorite target species down here for catch/clean/cook. Mangrove are very good table fare as well. Winds have been REALLY bad this winter especially if you are wahoo trolling out at the reef. Worst winter - lots of rain too - I have experienced down here in 4 years.

I grew up on Big Pine and it is the one place that if I had a choice would have never moved from. I’ll be going back to Marathon in May for my 50 high school reunion and hope to get to fish the back country. No they don’t call them snappers because they look sharp. Thanks guys for taking me home even if it’s only in my mind. God bless y’all looking forward to your next adventure.

Big Pine Key is an amazing place! Those Key Deer are so precious. Sadly, so many die by being hit by cars on US 1. Glad you stressed how important it is to NOT feed them. The wilder they are, the safer they are.

We love animals, and we love their puppy. I was just running on empty with energy for being out in the sun for 9 hours. The Key Deer are an endangered species. A man posted pictures of him feeding and petting the deer.
