This video will show you how to remotely control the speed of your trolling motor from the captains chair ( Helm) using an electronic servo tester and a servo, to control the throttle linkage in the motor. It is a general video and can be used as a guideline for all manufacturers of trolling motors. It is a very simple yet effective solution for a better boating experience.

Pretty cool Mike. Definitely a good feature to be able to alter the speed from the front of the boat. I like that operation at the trolling motor overrides the electronic servo. I think I would have mounted the controller someplace a little easier to get at the dial, unless you have to mount it down there to protect it. Have a good one!

Didn’t help me any Mike. Hehe, I don’t have a boat. 🤭 Great system. Neat how it works. Took me a minute or so to figure out how it didn’t bind up the cable from the tiller handle. But I think I got it. Just like having the ease of power windows. I’ve wondered years ago how to put a foot throttle on one of my garden tractors. It has a throttle lever on the dash and you set it to the speed you want the engine. Governor handles the adjustment of throttle depending on load. This is something I added. A friend has a wireless transmitter type and I wanted a hard wired version. Works really well. Thanks for watching and have a good weekend

Why did you put the speed controller under the dash? That seems not only inconvenient but dangerous. Just imagine if the throttle to your 60hp outboard was up under the dash. Wouldn't a better place for the speed controller be just in front of the throttle for the 60hp on the side panel?

Hello Steve. The unit is not water tight and it needs to be protected from the elements. Well… of course the 60 will move the boat really quickly in a hurry and this does not. 100% safe no I’ll agree with that but really not that dangerous.
