In this video, DIYNate attempts to fix a radio dial knob issue (tuner and volume control that were not responding correctly). He removes and installs a new (used) radio purchased from a junk yard. After the installation, the issue was not resolved so appeared to be a short or something in the electrical / wiring vs. the radio itself. This video shows how to effectively remove and install the radio (video is a little shaky and a bit annoying at times due to having the car having to have the keys in the ignition to get to the radio components.
Hopefully, this video helps with your own project.
