Really brilliant video . In Australia watching this . FOUND IT VERY INFORMATIVE . We have to replace the hydrostatic belt on our zero turn . hope we manage it o.k.

I have a Gravely ZT 2548 XL 915112. Been having a issue finding a new belt. Last two I ordered from local dealer where to big. I know 145 inch belt is a bit to big. Any clue what size belt I need or part number? Tired of my dealership trying to get me to upgrade.

I have a Gravely Pro-Turn 52 Commercial... and purchased an OEM belt. Is there a special trick to get that long PTO belt back onto the spindles? I completely disconnected the tension spring from the tension bar, but it is still WAY too tight to turn-the-belt onto the last spindle. I didn't lower the deck all the way though... the manual indicates to lower it to 3 inches in order to properly measure the tension spring length... but then the manual also indicates to put the belt back onto the central spindle last... which the outside spindle is easier to reach/fight with than the center spindle. Any advice/tips with that particular model would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks!!

With tension spring hooked up there should be a square opening in the idler pulley bracket to accommodate either a ½” drive ratchet or breaker bar. You should be able to pull the bracket over far enough to install the belt. The other way is to simply roll the belt onto the last pulley (outside). However with that being said I’m a little concerned about the belt being so tight even without the spring being hooked up, you might want to check P/N one more time, without the spring the belt should slide right over pulley.

So, I called gravely and as I suspected, the part number listed in the owners manual is incorrect. The manual lists 0700036 for the pro turn 52", model 991201. But! Gravely has on their parts computers that it should be part number 07200509. There is about a 3 to 4 inch difference between the two belts. Looks like the manual has a miss print. THX!

I put it on all except the easiest spindle to get to. I use the left blade pulley. Put the belt on the bottom of the pulley then turn it and hold it on like a bicycle chain. It’ll go round and eventually on.
