Another challenge when dismantling is the quantity of fasteners which sometimes must come out and are often of different lengths and sizes. Its easy to install jumbled screws in their wrong locations or worse, have screws left over when it has all been put back together. The tray is a great idea - I use an old egg carton with each section numbered with a sharpie pen. That way as you remove the screws, you have a numbered sequence “parts bin” from start to finish which you can simply reverse for reinstallation.

Hey Mark. Can you give me some advise. Is the jl jd 1000/1 too powerful for a jl w10w7-3. The user manual stated the speaker is rated at 750 watts rms but will work best at 500 watts rms. Unfortunately the jl jd 1000/1 provides 800 watts rms at 3 ohms which might be too much for the speaker. Is this so and if so will the jl jd 500/1 be a better choice given that it is rated at 350 rms at 3 ohms.

If cost is not an issue Always Go with more Dynamic Headroom 1000 watts will not harm that little inefficient 83db sub. Underpowered amps driven to Clipping, and Distortion is what Causes damage.

If anyone could help me out I would really appreciate it, I’ll try to make this as simple as possible. I have an Acura with a aftermarket audio system. I decided to keep my head unit so I was required to purchase a LOC specifically the LC8i. The guy who did my system tapped into the factory “premium” amplifier but only took the speaker level Input for the front and rear. So basically only mids and tweets. I’m not to sure of how he did it but I’m pretty sure he summed the 2 channels into 1 because there is only 1 pair of RCA’a going Into the output of the LC8i’s main channel. That RCA goes into the main input of my 7 band Equalizer (which I believe is a full range signal). And the equalizer has front rear and sub outputs that go to my 3 amps (I have one for bass, one for mids, and one for tweets). I’m using a RCA pass through on my mids amp with y splitters to give signal to my tweeter amp because I have a HP filter set so my mids and tweets sound good. Now to get to my actual problem. I don’t have a remote bass knob so I just use the sub level control on my EQ to control my bass. No matter how I adjust the sub level or the gain on my bass amp the clip indicator starts flicking on at low levels. I know the potential of my subs and even though it does “hit”, I know they aren’t hitting as hard as they should all because if i increase by sub level or the gain it starts clipping. If there’s is anything that can’t be understood from what I said plz ask because I’ve been trying to resolve this for quite some time now. Thanks.

Try a 2001 European civic model. I don't see any video on that type of civic. All I see are probably us or UK models with different panels. Mine is just a nightmare to remove panels. They are so tight, lost of panels aren't held in place by these easy pop mechanisms but look more like locking mechanisms

Great Video, thank you! BUT LET me ADD something Very Important & Not mentioned here: Many vehicles use a metal nose reusable clip that stays attached to the removed panel. These metal clips are typically Too AGGRESSIVELY strong in most all locations, AND the plastic panel is thin and fragile and becomes more fragile as it ages over the years. Plus over time, these metal clips kind of weld themselves in their hole. SO, be SURE to, BEFORE reassembling a removed panel, * *, bent right over the nose of each metal clip! This will reduce the force needed to remove the clip next time by making its surface more slippery, almost like a superior lubricant. Reducing the chance of breaking, and then having to resort to super glue and baking soda to try to mend or hunting at the salvage yard for replacements. Just a piece of tape! Whoever removes the panel next time will thank you and it will probably be yourself! lol This is the same trick the van customizer industry does to their conversions, since they often have to re open OEM panels to make adjustments and repairs and additions! PS I find using the flimsy plastic tool on one side of a clip and my fingers on another, is a great supportive balanced combo to get the clip to pop out. Take care

It's also helpful to determine which panel clips are common on your vehicle (for the door cards or for pillars, trim, etc) and to buy a bag replacement clips to replace any clips that get broken. Amazon has variety packs for $15. I'd recommend replacing all the clips (including any thin rubberized washers that may have become lost) for any panel that's been removed/replaced 5 or more times. That helps to keep the panels in as-delivered condition, rather than having loose panels everywhere.
