with all these cut weapons, jet, tank, extended map (Liberty Upstate) etc, the game would have been much more complete, a shame those were scrapped. well at least EFLC brought some new features like new weapons, parachute, gang wars, a small tank etc

Snowy roads with GTA IV driving physics would be something AMAZING

Y'know, given how the driving in GTA4 can be slippery at times. It makes me think it may have been intended to take place during winter.

GTA IV is meant to have small amount of guns because they are not legal(Dimitri tells us that guns store are "underground places" and that there only few in whole city)

We can’t have snow in a city that actually gets a lot of snow. But we can have gta 5 based in la where it doesn’t snow but it snows in the game. Makes a lot of sense rockstar

That 'P996 Lazer' in GTA 4 is litterally a F16 but with 2 tailfins. It's actually a shame that the P996 Lazer in GTA 5 looks different.

Maybe the reason driveable planes and tanks weren't added because its New York City, and you have to remember that the game takes place during the aftermath of 2001

If i recall correctly, there's hidden underground facility on that countryside mod. I found one gate when driving a boat. I think it supposed to be silent hill facility

This is a awesome mod, it will be really fun to play when it's out. I do think they'll be able to work around the airplane issue though since the beta content has handling files and a jet model that work when tested. The only reason R* removed them was due to concern the jets could get around the map too quickly for their speed. This would obviously not be a problem for Vice City with the Dodo and Sea Skimmer. Also, The Rhino and Minigun were cut too and could be restored :D

There were also supposed to be Sounds that would play when Niko dies but they were cut from the game. You can actually find them in the game files.

Not to be rude. But would you mind including links to these mods? Looking them up can be a bit of a pain. Especially the map mods.

If all that had been in the game in 2008 it would have been massive and slow, people would have complained about how the game performances and disk space needed are horrible.

Upstate NY would have been cool but can see why they never went ahead with it. At the scale of GTA's map, it seems a bit off. IRL, you could spend an entire day driving through upstate NY in a single direction and still have more upstate NY to go before you're out of the state. It would have been tough to officially replicate that feeling. Some of the most gorgeous places I've been in this country too, which is hard for some people to believe, considering I've seen almost all of it.

I would loved to have seen a Liberty State and snow in the final game.

I hope that GTA 7 will include such Liberty City😅😅😅

the only reason they had to cut off the "liberty state" and just have liberty city was because of hardware limitations caused by the Xbox 360's lack of RAM and because the RAGE engine was still pretty new for Rockstar and was still not that well optimized being that the game was already running really crappy on both PS3 and Xbox 360, with the map being any bigger performance would take a huge impact, and that is beside the fact that the Xbox 360's version would've required 3 DVD's instead of the 2 DVD's they ended up packing for it. had GTA 4 not been released for xbox 360 at the time i'd imagine that the map could've been bigger. and, the only reason GTA 5 on PS3/XBOX360 have a larger map was because by the time Rockstar were working on GTA5 they have already managed to overcome many of the issues they were having with RAGE engine and ofc the version of RAGE used for GTA5 on PS3/X360 was newer and improved. (btw, RAGE engine made it debut back in 2006's Rockstar game's Tennis game - which was practically a tech demo for the RAGE engine and during the same time Rockstar were already in the later stages of developing GTA4 in the brand new RAGE engine)

I think they cut some of these cause of the console versions it will probably drop frames when using the jet and tank with the explosions. It’s understandable but a GTA 4 remaster could add these in the game. Only one can hope we get that in the future

I would have loved the larger map (although that is not what upstate new york looks like, coming from living there my whole life). i still hope one day they remaster the game and add that.

There's absolutely no reason to cut all that out! I can only imagine that Rockstar had some schedule plans and in order to stay within the plan they had to cut content. Or they were afraid that the console version would crash all the time since rhinos and a bigger map are resource killers. To me GTA 4 was a boring game with great graphics and a good story but I missed a bigger map with variaty like in san Andreas.

You can get the fingerless gloves from shooting all the seagulls around the map that’s not cut Content I’m just correcting you don’t take it bad I’m just helping so others can get it in the game.

Your cut contents missing the most important stuff. They added a grainy filter to make the game look less advanced. They downgraded motorcycle physics while airborne. They removed the planned import and customize cars mechanics. They changed the work of art ufc style melee system to a severely downgraded but still decent melee system. They downgraded steering animations. They removed the original commercial for gta online which had a guy in a black t shirt visiting bars and drinking with commentary on the game. They removed traffic laws and heavily downgraded the wanted system. They changed the limited weapon carrying system to the "magic pockets" system. They changed the planned year from the 90s to the 2000s and the absolute only thing thats 2000s about the game is the cell phones. Definitely feels like its 1998 in gta 4. Removed silenced pistol and stealth mechanics, which changed a few missions. Suspension system was downgraded to being over reactive at slow speeds. You wont find this information online either, you either know about it or you dont. Gta4 was supposed to set the foundation for the next 3 gta games, but instead, they heavily ruined gta5 and society seems like its programmed to like that awful game. Its only successful bc its one of extremely few games that use a guaranteed formulaic success method for online mmo action games, that formula is literally having a map that feels like players live in with purchasable properties, customization options and multiple game archetypes.

I would've loved to see snow being in the game. It gives off such a nice atmosphere but Rockstar always decides to never use it. In GTA SA snow exists but is restricted to LC. GTA V also has snow but only in North Yankton and during winter season in GTA Online

Actually legally they cant use military force in the states without instilling Marshall law and the national gaurd would be hard pressed to get authorization for that type of force on us soil look and Granby Colorado for example
