Cheers for this. It just reminded me of an episode of Roadkill where they removed a bearing like you did but with a bar of soap instead. Need to try something like this on a bearing outside the range of my pullers.

Take bread roll up with your hands and place in has always worked great for me. And same concept you have good job showing how it pushes out the bearing evenly.

i think its a good idea to mention the old trick of packing the spigot bearing hole with grease then driving it out with a hammer and round bar. the spigot bearing is just a piece of brass. this trick wouldn't work with a ball race bearing. such videos as this are why the internet and youtube are a great advancement to civilization.

I've used grease and neat fitting shaft to remove blind crank bushes on old Triumph crankcase. Imagine cardboard and grease also OK if you don't want to use water.
