Removing dried up latex sealant from your tubeless bicycle tire

Latex sealant in your tubeless bicycle tire is a wonderful thing, but after a while, it dries up and makes quite a mess. Is removal even necessary? I think at least where the bead contacts the rim it might be good to have a fresh start when remounting. Comments are appreciated!
(Sealant being removed in this video is Orange Seal regular)

Thank you but I've done it several times (so far) and simply turned the tire inside out and let the sun beat on it for about 10 mins. This will dry up most moisture. I pull the large sections of sealant off with my finger. Then I use a rough rag and keep scraping it off (while flat on the ground). Then I'll pull the tire in circles while I squeeze the bead with rag. This removes it all nicely. NOTE: I use Orange Seal Endurance.

@@phillippitts6294 That’s a lot of surface area! I found that if the natural rubber starts turning black from the tire, it is not as effective. Try cleaning it with sandpaper periodically.

Noted, but this is optional if you wanted to start fresh, or if you were planning to sell the tires. Last time I moved tires to a different wheel, I just left all the old sealant and it was fine. Lately I have been trying TPU tubes, possibly the best of both worlds.

I ride tubeless for 5 years now on my cx/gravel bike and i love it. 2 (extreme) punctures only ...
