Removing Scratches from a Watch Crystal

5 жыл бұрынIn this video I try to polish scratches from a glass Seiko watch Crystal. Ultimately I achieved this by wet sanding from 400-2500 grit sand paper followed by buffing.

I've been working on my wife's Fossil all day. I've tried toothpaste, brasso, and elbow grease and nothing works. The crystal was just too hard. Watched this video, and took the wet sanding up to 2500 grit, then used my rotary tool with some honing compound I use for sharpening knives. This worked amazing. Many thanks.

I sanded with 600 - 800 - 1000 and finally 1500. I then used Novus 2 scratch remover with a paper towel to hand buff and it came out great.

Polywatch is by far the best product for finishing off. It is truly amazing.

I've been thinking about this for a while too, it looks like it could work with some cerium oxide as the final polishing compound. I'm definitely going to give this a try. Top work brother!

Y Smith, im in the same exact spot! LOVE my Citizen Eco-drive, been with me at least 20 years and going strong! She's a little beat up, the face could definitely use some love but have always been afraid I will destroy it if I tried myself without knowing how to do it. I feel like this has givin me a little confidence...crossing my fingers. Here's to Citizen, what a great time piece! Couldn't be more satisfied with its performance.

9:20 is pre polishing paste, but as far as I know just for metals

Try “Quixx” the car paint version. Made my Rolex Crystal Brand new!

I want to remove a scratch but I’m afraid sanding it would scratch it more

Buy a beater and practice, or maybe have a jeweler do it. Or just rock it as is :)

Try toothpaste with micro-charcoal in it.
