A little help removing the spark plug socket when it gets stuck on the spark plug

I encountered that same problem with a MINI Cooper and a Craftsman ⅜” spark plug socket as well. I _just_ had to change the plugs on a Hyundai today and remembered, so I cleaned them with brake cleaner and wrapped the socket & extension ends with Gorilla tape to make sure they’d stay on. Worked out.

You’d think the spark plug socket would be designed to counter this, but it isnt… if you guys don’t have a spark plug socket. You can use a 5/8 socket just put a circle shaped piece of paper in the socket, and screw/unscrew your spark plug. Stay mindful your socket will probably still get stuck but if you have some needle nosed players it should come right out. Thanks for the video btw man

Hey bub i just clean off the outside of the socket and extension with baking soda and vinegar to wash the oils off then i tape grey duct tape the socket and wrench together and when you pull up they stick together.

@@aalways.wwasted2983 because you had Grease and oil on the extension, I said clean all oils off before you tape em together with good duct tape, not 99 cents store tape.

what if you used the wrong length size socket, too short?

Wrap electric tape around socket and extension and want have this promblem

Works! Just changed my spark plugs on my mustang gt and the socket got stuck but the socket was a flat socket so i pulled it from the sides grabbed the extension put it back in and it came right out.

Make your own, grind a notch. I own lots of quality snap on pliers but my favorite are $5 needle nose pliers I grounded down super thin for working on transmission valve boddies. I do have a pair of gamakatsu fishing pliers that have that same notch.
