Ren has lyme disease. He was misdiagnosed for almost a decade and told it was all in his head. He ended up suffering from psychosis and PTSD because of it. He has been in Canada for almost a year receiving special treatments trying to fix the damage done to his body.

@@neurocide He has said in past livestreams that he's no longer battling Lyme, but he's battling with the side effects of having it for so long such as brain damage. He also said that having an autoimmune condition like Lyme run rampant for so long that it breeds other autoimmune conditions, hence why he's currently battling MCAS.

For REN, this was truly his reality. Ren had misdiagnosed Lyme disease for 7 years by conventional doctors who deemed him mentally ill, but when patients are experiencing neurological symptoms, they very often become misdiagnosed. Lyme disease can present itself as many neurological conditions including Acute Transverse Myelitis[3], Ptosis[4], Seizures, and Chronic Fatigue[1] and these symptoms can be often misdiagnosed or deemed psychosomatic. Second is dealing with the symptoms of Lyme neuroborreliosis, these neurological symptoms often leave patients feeling drained and debilitated as they begin losing their quality of life. Over time, patients find themselves unable to do the things they love as they struggle to get ahead of their progressing symptoms.

I was misdiagnosed for 25 years, used as a Guinea pig for the Pharmaceutical Industrial Complex throughout it all... Driven insane with the psych meds, driven to addiction with pain pills, anxiety meds, sleep meds, adderal... My heart stopped and I now have a pacemaker/defibrillator... Lyme was finally diagnosed, went off ALL the meds, and at 59 I'm finally awake and aware! Ren is a GIFT to my soul!! He GETS IT!! And he's bringing us together through his gift. We are no longer alone in our experiences. Much love! ❤

Imagine everything you said about Ren's illness, only both himself and those 'treating' him didn't know he had Lyme disease and so they started saying it was all in Ren's head (and giving him a load of drugs that further damaged him he didn't need). Then imagine what that would do to a person when you don't even have enough energy to get out of bed and don't understand why! If you guessed psychosis then go to the top of the class 😮

REN was treated (mistreated) unbelievably badly, some of the doctors he saw actually laughed at him! I hope they suffer guilt for that, it’s inexcusable for a doctor to laugh at someone describing symptoms & pain. My heart hurts for h8m & the harm done to him by doctors that just didn’t bloody care!

Yes, ren has lyme. He also was misdiagnosed for many years. Which is why he had many other side effects that were unnecessary. Now he is in canada for special treatments since almost a year while all of his rise is going on. October 13th the album is coming out and he has a good change with a fantastic chart position. As a independent artist no less.

Boyd, you constantly impress me with how insightful you are when looking into the lyrics of things, but this is the first time I've been straight up shocked, because of your baseline knowledge of just illness and treatments. Is there training there? or just well-read I wonder. On a side note, I think "Losing *patience* (patients) with the process" is one of the greatest doubles.

Yes .. instead of Lyme disease, he was treated as though he had bipolar because he had years of misdiagnosis and was fed drugs like diazapam and sertraline which like he said in Hi Ren gave him psychosis. This song and his new songs were penned when Ren was at his most psychotic. Actually sick boy came at a similar time as hi Ren. In order his songs make a lot of sense. He's now being treated in Canada for his Lyme disease. Knowing when his songs were penned is key to Rens music. They have come to us out of order because he was bed ridden for about 8 years.

Ren has lymes disease that was misdiagnosed for about 10 years. It's actually quite heartbreaking what he went through. He's currently in Canada receiving medical treatment. He has been there for almost a year now. So, all of the songs you have reacted to were written while being very sick. So, now maybe their lyrics and the topics will make more sense to you.

As mentioned He was misdiagnosed ME, When actually had Lyme Disease. He finally found out 10yrs later at 27yrs old. The Lyme disease has gone, but what he's left with is the effects of Lyme D, but far worse, is the side effects Ren's suffering from all the medication he took for ME, which didn't need. If caught early Lyme D. can be cured easily with anti biotics,

If you haven't done Money Game you really should. There are two parts (watch the lyric video for part 2) but you'll really get it i think. Part 3 comes out in 3 weeks and Ren is really excited about it. If you've already done them, I'll check when I've finished this, then apologies for missing them! Ren was misdiagnosed for so long and medicated for the wrong things for years, including i believe for trauma response (ie his mind was making him sick), he was utterly debilitated by the meds and Lymes. A lot of his older songs give a real insight into this period of his life. 🖤

In the end, after trying everything, even "snake oil" he realised he had Lymes but couldn't convince Drs, so lied about his symptoms so he would be given the correct antibiotics for Lymes, which started to work, so he knew he was on the right track, he then self funded two stem cell treatments, and that was the beginning of his road to recovery. A road he's still on.

He is Not getting stem cell treatment in Canada. He got stem cells in 2016-17 which allowed him to rejoin life. Once this album is released he will get heavy duty antibiotics which will come ith a heavy reaction because of his autoimmunity. It's called a Herxheimer reaction. They are trying to reduce inflamation and toxins that were built up over the years in order to allow his brain to heal. No guarantees. He will likely be dealing with autoimmunity for life . He is such an inspiration.

Thank you sir, for one of the top reactions I have seen to date regarding this Ren track. From the start, and your statement regarding how hypochondria can manifest a physical response, through your closing thoughts advocating the need for change, you once again went through said door of a standard reaction cave, if you will. It doesn't take total anarchy to not be complacent and want to explore new concepts and options. Independent thought and curiosity are regarded as an enemy of the broken systems that are making humanity atrophy while destroying the natural world. Perhaps as more folks champion breaking free from the herd and actually do so, some establishments may fall into chaos, but we may be the better for it. Looking forward to more of your insights as your reactions are nearly always though provoking.

Periodically narrowing focus to view shadows on the cave wall can help you see additional patterns to the degree that you can remain objective. The utility of this is finding ways to help educate those within the cave to find their own path out. But yes, stepping outside the cave is the only way to see sufficient context to gain wisdom. And once one steps outside, as long as they don't cower and run back inside never to return, the perspective shifts so that those who love being inside the cave wall become seen as petty and foolish. The darkness is the path to the outside, but only the mentally brave are willing to fully face the darkness. And that is the difference.

The antibiotics would of been great 8 or so yrs ago when he was likely showing first symptoms of the lymes disease. But after yrs of lymes disease tearing through his body and deteriorating it he developed autoimmune disease and psychosis. Along with all the psycho meds they gave him because it was just in his head and nothing else was wrong, he developed many more issues. Only now after all these yrs is he trying to repair some of the damage. The whole incident ruined many parts of his body and his brain.

Just wanted to add that Ren received 2 stem cell procedures back starting around 2016 (hence the stem cell poster boy) which basically is what brought him back to the land of the living giving him some form of quality of life away from being bedridden for nearly a decade. His treatments in Canada now are to help improve things even more.

They missed the bullseye phase at the start, and only understood he was sick when the more serious longer term symptoms showed up. And they missed it. Nothing physical responded to treatments so they efrbtualky told him is was in his head and started treating mental diseases that didn’t exist. Plus all of this obviously made him depressed. Plus the Lyme disease itself, when untreated, eventually effects the brain...

This doesn't apply in the UK. We don't pay for our health care like Americans do. A small portion of our wages comes out monthly if we work as a contribution to all, if you dont work you dont get charged and everyone gets healthcare without charge. The most we pay is for our medicines and they are all subsidised, so regardless of the prescription wr only pay about £10. Unless you have a chronic condition like diabetes or are elderly/pregnant or under 18 . Then it's free. All the contrary, our NHS has been so underfunded over the last few years that it's barely able to cope anymore. Add that to the problem that Lyme disease is not very common here. So they probably looked for obvious reasons as to why he was complaining and when they didn't find them they fobbed him off as a mental health case. He was unlucky that no one took him seriously and didn't want to spend any further resources on finding out what was wrong.

I’m clinging to the hope the indicators of breakdown can trigger a big enough change in time to save ecosystems. But it seems we need to go close to the brink before politicians and world leaders will act. My guess is it’ll happen when they’re scared of us (all of us) rather than when they grasp the reality of climate breakdown. Love this breakdown. You seem very knowledgeable about medicine. I hope that’s because of your profession (?) and not because you or someone close to you is ill

"Has the social contract been broken?" Personally, I have never put much stock into the social contract notion of civilization. It has always been a dominance and submission thing since the Sumerians took the grain from the farmers and doled it out based on fidelity to the priests. If that is a contract, it is unconscionable. It was coerced based on the false assumption that you, the farmer, would be protected, provided for, and be shown the path to ascension. "You will own nothing and be happy." - Klaus Schwab

There is no point going through that door and just wandering off into the darkness & light of the 'real world' if nobody ever goes with you either, you just end up getting lost. Never be afraid to walk through that door, but never be afraid to return to the sanctity of the cave either. It is a 2 way door.

People say Lyme and that's true but he has given an update since he went to the hospital in Canada. He was diagnosed with Mast Cell Activation Syndrome. I have that too so I'm really familiar with it. It's a mechanistic diagnoses rather than a causative one if that makes any sense. Mast cells are the cells that degranulate and cause the inflammatory response. WIth MCAS your cells degranulate in an abnormal way and in response to a lot of triggers and cause multisystemic inflammatory response and it can be any system including the brain. That's where a lot of the psych stuff comes in. When you have encephalitis you are gonna not think or behave correctly.
