Ours is a 2007 so the resistor doesn't have the heatsink but (if anyone else comes across this) its in exactly the same spot. I was looking for bright green plugs but can also be black. I found dropping the plastic under the steering wheel (UK RHD) made life a bit easier as the red and black cables were not very long. Thanks for helpful video 🙂

Jesus christ, spent 4 hours trying to get it from the other way, banging head ache and nothing more then a sore back. This took me 10 minutes to get out. Not noted in the Haynes manual or any other website, you saved my sanity kind sir.

Took a bit longer than 20 minutes, only two panels removed from the display and that's it. Your video is better than most and accurate! The hardest bit was undoing the connectors, but changed tactic and used flat blade chubby screw driver to push against the tap then twist. This released the connectors. We used the tape method to insert the screw. My brother paid the same £14 for the resistor. The broken resister has a failed solder and is repairable. Since you have a Scenic, if the windows fail, go to a scrapper and get the "Temic" switches. My brother who owns the Grand Scenic had a window failure, and the window was stuck down. I got some wires and bypassed the Temic switch to wind the wind up. The electrics on this car are trouble some but actually easy to fix.

This video saved me £300. One thing to mention like other people have commented is the plugs are a pain to get out. The plugs have a catch on them. You need a flat head to push against to pull and release. Also giving the cables a little tug to get more slack was a big help for me. The bit of tape on the end of the screw driver was a genuis idea.

Once I took the old one out I moved it to make it more accessible. It works fine.

Actually did this today. Struggled for quite a while to get that screw back in, only to find that it did not solve the problem!! Looks like it could be the motor, damn!

This was really helpful, but I ended up cutting off a piece of the plastic that was behind the digital display, as my hand and wrist was were too big, and kept scratching me. This gave me a better view. Also stuck a light in there. The only tip I have for pulling the green connectors off is PULL the resistor hard (once you have unscrewed it from the heater blower) and they just come free. Screw the new unit back in and replacing them is much easier. , do this by hand.

An android endoscopic camera would really help in this situation (i'd recommend a semi rigid one, with a wifi module, but that's me)

I know this was 6 years ago, but in case anyone can help..... I have 2007 Scenic with no climate control. UK RHD model. The resistor is in the same place and accessible. I have the screw out, the main connector off, and the resistor loose. However there are also two thick wires with no connector at the resistor, they are soldered on, and they presumably go off to the fan. They head off towards the bonnet beyond my reach. Has anyone got further than me and knows what to start taking apart next?!
