Thank you for watching 👍🏼 Yes I like to keep things as simple as possible, or at least real word related so to speak. I would go into a bit more detail, but don’t have the time to sit doing research and write out a script prior, takes me enough time as it stands to edit videos, make thumbnails, upload and tag.

The Bose sound system is hard to beat indeed. Crank it up and the clarity of the sound is mind blowing, love my 61 plate grand in silver, the edc gearbox is absolutely fantastic I agree with your review 100%.

They are a fantastic car, not going to knock Renault. Just daft things like the clutch pack, pollen filter is a joke, air filter is just as bad, Renault never seam to learn. But comfort, ease to drive, practicality, visibility, tech specs is secondly non

Thanks for the positive comments and watching the video. I’m honestly not sure if they are the same, usually they do beef the brakes up on the 7 seaters, so I would probably say they are different.

Wait until that EDC starts giving trouble. Absolutely shocker to fix. Got two of these just due to EDC gearbox issue. 4k for the gearbox.

I have the 2012 1.6 dci its brilliant , i understand you were rushing through 2 cars , i just hope the floor cubby holes are being used , i suppose with a dog the rear cover thats in the floor of the 7 seater is less likely to be used . personally i think the build quality is about right for modern cars , my previous was the renault 21 savanna 7 seater 1.9 diesel so the grand scenic is like the starship enterprise in comparison . have an amazing time

Yes the Grand Scenic is actually our own garage/works car….. I will say hands down the Renault built quality is no different to premium brands….. I work on all sorts of new so called premium brand vehicles, and Renault are really not as bad as made out. I will say the dual dry clutch automatic transmission on our grand scenic is awful, £2000 every 50,000 miles it will cost you and that’s all the clutch’s will last 😖 I don’t trust those under floor storage units at all, as they do tend to leak, get any amount of these in with little ponds under the floor 😂

@@CarAddictGarageNE mine is the manual gearbox and yes I have found the front cubby hole damp on occasion but I'm not certain whether its a leak or maybe just condensation

We have one, facelift model from 2013 with 1.5dci.o far so good. 254k kilometers. Still with factory clutch. Most expensive part so far is a back brake discs, stupid idea, but in the same time you have everything done, bearing etc. Our one have 2 egr valves and fap filter. Troubleless i must say. Pollen filter placement is a joke, i damaged the clutch pdeal position sensor lol. Other big issue i had with ours was a master cylinder brake pump. Eventually it start to let the air in into the system, PAINFULL car to bleed. Nightmare, brakes are still not as they should be, but i blame cheap brake pads on front. Will replace them when they run out. Overall, happy with the car, did over 100k kilometers in 3 years, car never stopped

Yes unfortunately these French cars have some poor design features, I used to call French cars, but to be honest modern premium brand cars are just as bad as the French, so I have stopped been so harsh on them in the last 5+ years. Best thing is get them Re Mapped and get the EGR mapped out, saves so much hassle, better performance, better MPG and better reliability.

@@CarAddictGarageNE Once antipoluttion system start giving up then ill think about it. With current mileage amount of soot in fap filter is below 5grams after regeneration . That mean it works superbly. Easiest way to check condition of the engine and fap filter in 1.5dci is checking the exhaust tip. Have to be clean, dusty at max. My one is clean and shiny inside. Once its black and full of soot then there is a problem or fap mapped out

I used to call the French cars, but I tell you the new era of premium brand cars are shocking the build quality and faults I see terrible. The 1.5 K9K gets fantastic fuel economy 50+mpg but with the Grand Scenic been an Automatic does hinder urban MPG

Personally the 2.0 DCI M9R is a fantastic engine that would be my first choice, nothing wrong with the 1.5 DCI K9K but pushing it a bit on a grand scenic. We had to change the dual clutch system on this cost £2000 and make sure the plenum drains are clear or they full with water and comes into the cabin and floods the BCM and ECU, just cleared ours last week have a video on it Saying that I have just picked up a 2010 Seat Altea XL with the rare 170 BHP 2.0 TDI same as the Leon FR/Cupra and Skoda VRS/ GT TDI/ absolutely flys for a bigger car, In for re map soon 205 bhp

Few and far between the Altea XL with the 170 TDI. But definitely any Renault with the 2.0 DCI M9R is a good pick, had a Laguna 2 with the M9R and 2 Laguna 3 one with K9K other with M9R all brilliant cars…. Avoid the 1.9 DCI and the 2.2DCI they are poor

Yes unfortunately that has been the way for the last 10+ years with LED and HID lighting, started off on top end cars now it’s filtering down to bottom of the range city cars now LED running lights and so on, as you say very expensive to replace. Manufacturers have gone one step further now, not only do you need to replace whole units, they also need coded to the vehicle all extra cost to customer
