1. Its almost too fitting that this battle felt like one between a superhero and a supervillain. 2. The saddest part is that if Alex had met someone like the canon good path Cole before, he might have actually been able to work through his nihilism instead falling into madness.

They never fully address that either. Supposedly every with the Conduit Gene (dormant or active) would die in an instant so for Conduits to form again after a world wide genocide seems a little screwy

@theinsurance2450 as an addendum, outside help is allowed, so long as it is STRICTLY a part of a combatant's arsenal (Jiraiya's toads, Cloud's summons, etc). Something like, say, Goku calling in Piccolo or Gohan wouldn't be allowed

The evil ending of infamous 2 was originally supposed to be the cannon ending. But they changed it because according to PlayStation tropy records more people played the good ending. So they changed it.

29:01 true using the bio leech is the evil way but the thing is that Cole knows when to put down an enemy and to spare the enemy. If an opponent is not going to be much of a threat anymore then he's going to use the restraints. But if he knows someone is still going to be a threat he's going to put them down no matter what. Just like an Infamous 2 in one of the Dead drops he has a good moral compass

It’s funny how even some of my fellow inFAMOUS fans severely underestimate and forget how powerful Cole is. The Beast’s regenerative powers are superior to even Alex’s and Cole took it down anyway. Alex when fighting someone on his level (James Heller, who had less experience btw) lost. Meanwhile Cole fought an older and more experienced version of himself and won. Cole was in the center of the blast that gave him his powers and wrecked a good chunk of Empire City and survived, with Kessler even stating that he wasn’t even certain if Cole gonna survive. Alex only survived the edge on a nuclear bomb, got reduced to a puddle, and needed some other organism to happen upon him to save him. However close or not you think this fight is, ya got a lotta people ignorantly downplaying how busted Cole is. Hopefully this DB opened some peoples’ eyes.

Alex's power level is only limited to what he can consume. And he can't die either, only be consumed.

Believe it or not: the games developers decided to make Coles heroic Sacrifice the official cannon ending heading into Second Son… because of how many trophies were unlocked for each ending. Legitimately I’m serious, more players got the good heroic sacrifice ending, so the developers decided to make that ending officially cannon heading into Second Son. A game was decided by the final achievement/trophy that was unlocked by the gamers themselves… talk about developers listening to their gamers choice 😉

@@mitkokatrandviev9912Well sort of. The explanation was that all your playthroughs of XCOM 1 happened after you already were captured and the aliens were using you to simulate XCOM battle strategies so that they could be stomped and fix holes in their defenses.

Wrong game developer for inFamous. It was Sucker Punch who made that game. The same ones who made Ghost of Tsushima and the original Sly Cooper trilogy. And in Second Son, the good ending is the canon. This reason a few conduits survived was mostly plot convenience. But it was semi explained that a few conduit genes were resilient to the RFI effect. But not many.

As someone who played Prototype a lot but never got to play Infamous... That's a fair win. I did also think that they would use the whole "regenerated himself after a nuke" thing to give the win to Alex, especially after they said that Cole's power was similar to that of a massive bomb, but I didn't consider the scale of bodily destruction they had both survived. Really cool battle too.

In the Infamous games, the choice to bio leech or restrain was the original choices on which path you would walk, starting on evil or good karma but both restraint and bio leech abilities were available to Cole no matter which path he chose.

Bio-leech gives evil exp, but it’s not locked out from Good Cole. At the very least, you could say he only does it in emergencies compared to Evil Cole.

God I am SO GLAD they made this match up at long last! And it was well worth the wait to they can do it justice! To answer the question about Second Son, it is following the good ending from Infamous 2. Though Cole's sacrifice saved the world and supposedly killed all the Conduits, some small number have survived.

This fight is not about who is the most powerful. Electricity itself completely denies the ability to heal and is a counter to a lot of things, a virus is one of them. Specially when you have the ability to create material out of your own body that doesn't isolate electricity, such as metal weapons. Cole's strength is versatility. Electricity and Ice are both counters to whatever Alex can do, if we add Napalm the fight would've been a lot easier.

Power defiantly had a play in the victor as Cole may have Electricity, but that shit doesn’t matter if lack the POW to break Alex's defense and put him down for good, like making water type pokemon vs a fire type pokemon, if the water pokemon is heavily under lvl, then the type advantage is useless if it can’t hit hard

@@spinozilla2421 Alex is vulnerable to electricity, that's like one of his biggest weaknesses. They made the fight a close call to create suspense. Technically Cole didn't even need Ice powers and to summon a vortex in order to win, he was just showing off. Like I said, this fight isn't necessarily about power because Cole has counters for days, even if Alex can regenerate. Also, the Pokémon explanation doesn't really apply here since Cole was nerfed in order to keep people invested in the fight. Without the Beast powers, the guy is still a walking generator.

Appearntley the decisoin for what became the canonical ending of Infamous 2 was decied based on the Trophy data for the ending. Which meant that a lot of people got the good ending than the evil ending. From what I've seen in comment sections it seems becuase folks were getting more use out of Cole's Ice Powers than his Fire Powers hence the majority leading towards the Good Ending being Canon. How the Conduits came back. Yeah Idk about that one. Guess the whole soft reboot thing does apply to Second Son but there might be a hidden detail or something that sheds Light on why more starting appear even after what Cole did. At most it could be that Cole destroyed the Virus and it was linked to the current Gen of Conduits so he ensure that humanity and Conduit could co-exist. Either way it's up in the air.

If I remember correctly, theres also a DLC/Patch/Probably ingame that allows the main character Delsin to get Cole's Jacket, and Cole's Best friend Zeke tells Delsin that Cole would be proud. Since the Main Antagonists "D.U.P." Claimed Cole to be a Terrorist and hunted down any surviving Conduits. So I'm guessing your theory about Cole destroying the Virus could be the most accurate one.

@Become-Eggplant that makes sense since we see Conduits gaining their powers more like Mutants then how Cole and others did. They had to be exposed to extreme conditions like Lucy who claimed they drained her of her blood and then poured something into her that triggered her powers over ice. While Nyx and Cole had to survive Ray Sphere explosions. But in Second Son no one is exposed like that except for debatably Delsin who absorbs powers. But even then he had to have already unlocked it and just needed Conduits to drain. Either way I think with the lore Cole killed the Virus and some Conduits became stable and would be able to awaken naturally over time but most did die because they couldn't take the strain.

Ahh I see. Which honestly feels like a good explanation for how the Conduits are still around 7 years later and what Cole did inevitably lead to a stabling in the Conduits’ DNA. Which does feels like that has happened in a different story in media I think. Like a missing ingredient to a cure or Tony creating a new Arc Reactor that helped heal his body from his previous reactors. That might also be as to why Delsin’s powers are the way they are in the game, he was probably in a weird in-between of human and conduit and the shocks from Cole made him into a power absorbing Conduit. Shock, I’ve even seen folks say he has the potential to be the second coming of the Beast given how his powers work and how he just needs to absorb the elemental shards found in the generators. Again there’s a lot that could go either way honestly.

@razorswordninja2611 I could see that since Delsin has seemingly no limits to the powers, he can absorb aside from needing a source to switch. Which honestly felt like the only big weakness in the game them not to include a way to just switch when needed without needing the source outside of it works to make the Final Boss more exciting. But yeah no limits on absorbtion and he can probably become a Beast since he doesn't fully steal powers just copies them.

Same, the only thing I really question is how they compared Alex and the blacklight virus to that lady's black tar powers. Outside of that after me and my friends debated this at length they eventually convinced me that Cole was going to win and after watching the analysis portion I ended up agreeing. But who knows maybe one day Alex will pop up again in another battle and he'll actually get the win.

@@briandurio6479The reason for the comparison was that the Blacklight Virus could control people and their actions. Sasha's Black Tar powers in InFAMOUS can do the same. Only difference is it's just the mindcontrol. Nothing else from the Virus is the same for Sasha's Black Tar.

Both Karmic routes allow Cole to bio-leech your ass, it's just that Good Cole has it a the very last resort while Evil Cole does it as he pleases. Plus their powers don't really change that much until you swap powers with Kuo/Nyx and until the endpoint of either Karmic Route.

When it comes to draining someone, you can still do it if you've got enough good Karma. It'll lower it a bit, sure, but not to the point of falling into evil. It's an ability he just has, it just depends on how he chooses to wield it.

Alex to me seems like a character that if you put him down before he gets the ball rolling, you caught him at the perfect time. Adaptation is his strong suit. If he had spent time fighting the kind of things Cole fights like Conduits and began absorbing them, it would make a huge difference.

@@Kjf365 maybe not prep time, but the best way to describe the strength of the two characters is through the monsters they've fought, Cole has fought a wide variety of monsters with different powers and was able to adapt to them and even vary up his own roster at the sametime, whereas Alex has mostly only fought a virus and kept his abilities relatively the same.

I think since Bio-Leech is a power that's available to both Good and Evil Cole DB gave it to Coles arsenal, it's not like the Napalm power where he has to do an evil choice to get the said power, it was always available to him.

In my opinion the power swapping thing shouldn't have been a karmic choice. Only evil power out of the whole deal was Ionic drain and good Cole could simply avoid using it like with bio leech

Fucked up thing about infamous 2 is that apparently the evil ending was suppose to be the canon ending but because more people played the good ending, infamous 3 was scrapped! I fucking hate that, who cares more people played the good end? Just make the game! I also hate how Prototype’s comic just ruins Alex’s character and wasn’t even a game! It sucks that these game companies keep using this shit practice by making these comics that no one buys instead of making the story into the game!

Outside of fun, Cole should have one shot. Cole beat the current beast which is more powerful than the Kessler Beast who split the moon. Confirmed by Kessler. Alex Mercer at best is a city buster. At best. Cole dodges radio waves and lighting Mercer dodged bullets. Sub sonic. Also InFamous is a better series.

The rules of Death battle is every character is allowed all powers, abilities, weapons and gear they have (as long it doesn't include outside help) the ABILITY to use. Good Cole has the ability to use Bio leech. It just in character of good path he CHOOSES not too. But he still has the ability to use it so it counts under the rules of Death Battle. For example Harry Potter has the ability to use the death curse spell. But in character he chooses not too. But the rules of Death battle says if he CAN do it. It is allowed. To tell you the truth. Even in character Cole most likely would use bio leech. He is willing to k*ll his enemies IF they pose a big enough threat like Kessler, Joseph Bertrand and the Beast. Even in gameplay killing enemies does not cause karma change. Bio leech is considered evil because it is unnecessarily cruel and purely selfish. Killing enemies in battle could be considered self defense and is a fast death. Not a slowly life being taking away feeling every inch of a death. But do to the level threat Alex is both to Cole and the world. Good Cole would make an exception.

Cole can use bio leech no matter what route. However he can't use it on civilians or he'll get evil karma. Its recommended that if you are playing with good karma to oniy use on enemies in case of emergencies

Second Sons takes place after the good end of inFamous 2. Cole using the RFI did kill Conduits. estimates to be 90% of them and just made things easier for those Conduits that didn’t have their powers unlocked without the use of a Ray Sphere field.

Second Son follows the good ending, but the ray sphere was causing the illness, with conduits basically being the carriers, I think? It's been a long time, but basically, not all conduits died from it, but a hell of a lot did.

InFamous: Second Son takes place in the continuity of the Good Endings from the first two games. The explanation given about why there are still Conduits is that the Ray Sphere didn't kill everyone who were had the Conduit gene. If memory serves correct, those who had yet to develop to a certain stage with the gene were spared.

No the good path is canon Zeke talks to Delsin in Second Son & some Conduits were able to survive.

Also, I believe what happened in the Good ending of Infamous 2, was that the Ray Sphere Inhibitor which cured the conduit plague, and killed thousands of conduits (Sacrifice the few to save Billions) was that 1, it was damaged before it went off, but also that it wasn't fully effective. Like how many anti-bacterial products say "Kills 99.9% of Germs", the Ray Sphere inhibitor must have missed a couple thousand conduits, who survived the incident.

Fun facts: This battle exists and in 3D because initially the team wanted to do it, being a Mario v Sonic of Death Battle if you will, but didn’t have the budget. They got the budget and then worried it wouldn’t be cared about. So they put it on the poll and it won. So this is 3D because of that. It almost didn’t even happen

I wonder if they'll ever put Delsin Rowe (Second Son), up against anyone? He's got 4 different powers at least with the Good ending, and potentially also would have practiced the hell out of them after the Second Son game. Maybe even reaching Eugene's level with the Video power? But if they used Delsin's Evil ending, he has thousands of different powers that he leeched from thousands of freed conduits, in a constant hunger for power.

Technically, Second Son takes place after the good canonical ending. The third entry stated at the beginning of the game that despite thousands of conduits dying, There are dozens, maybe hundreds more that gained resilience to it and survived. Many like Delsin Rowe, still retaining Conduit genes and can utilized their powers.

Second Son was a soft reboot as that game take place 7 years after the events in infamous 2 but its whole new cast of characters. I remember reading online years ago that initially second son was going to branch from the evil ending of infamous 2 and be about a new protagonist trying to take down evil/beast Cole. But suckerpunch went with the good ending because, according to PlayStation network trophy analytics, more players chose the good ending. Whether or not thats true I have no idea

I wanted Alex to win and was disappointed when he din't but when I heard the reasoning why and the breakdown of Cole's abilities compared to Alex's then yeah... fair enough, I'm not all that sore about it just because I prefer Prototype over InFamous. The fight itself. the animation and the track by the talented Brandon Yates more than makes up for it.

Alex can gain the intelligence of others by absorbing them. He also uses his consumed victims' identities to infiltrate secured facilities, acquire top secret information, call military bombardments against their own forces or citizens, and falsely label others as high-profile biohazards. That's pretty damn smart to me. Not disagreeing with the DB results, just adding more info.

I'll say this about Alex Mercer, he IS stronger than James Heller in prototype 2, the biggest sign of this is the final battle between the two where Alex consumes about 6 to 8 Evolved, or whatever he called them, at once while they were in peak condition, but James had to beat them down to consume them. James only won in the end because of his genetic anomaly that made him immune to being consumed by Alex. Also, I'd love to see Alex Mercer v. Carnage or some other Marvel Symbiote/Klyntar

I did played the first inFAMOUS game in Gamestop during 2009 an i would say that the game looks awesome an i did play the second inFAMOUS game on PS3 during 2011 or 2013 as a demo an Infamous second son looks very bad that i prefer playing as Cole McGrath instead of playing as Delsin Rowe and if Sucker Punch Productions plans to make a Reboot or a remaster of our beloved inFAMOUS series 1 an 2 that would be awesome an the reason why i didn't mention inFAMOUS Second Son is because the game sucks that it doesn't deserve a reboot or a remaster game that the game deserves to burn in the depths of hell that's all i wanted a reboot or remastered version of inFAMOUS 1 an 2 just to let us play our O.G. Legend Cole McGrath again cause inFAMOUS 1 an 2 will remain as our nostalgic childhood game

Frieza vs Megatron... no idea who is gonna win that duel of alien tyrant overlords. Frieza has power- even in one of his weaker forms, he was able to easily destroy a planet without effort. meanwhile, G1 Megatron is very durable, being able to survive a lot of punishment, until it's written to where he's not- gotta love 80's writing. I guess it's all gonna depend on which one is higher: Frieza's power or Megatron's durability.
