I think this is one of the few times where the winner was more screwed than the loser since Discord can come back with enough Chaos. So Discord lost the fight but he will come back, meanwhile Bill is stuck until he can find some sap to free him. Or to quote Stinkmeaner: I may be in hell but at least I'm not in jail.

the 'Real Name' section being jumbled at Bill Cipher's analysis segment is a reference to how no one knows his actual name because you can't hear it without dying a painful death. But what's really cool is that the random names they picked are actual usernames for Death Battle Community members, albeit shuffled around.

If you take into account what Discord is like as a character this could be considered a win for him too. He doesn't play by any rules but his own. So while he made an attempt to kill Bill Cipher, his ultimate goal was about getting him away from Equestria. Beating him in a duel to the death was secondary for him.

The MLP generation this Discord is from is more in-depth and mature than other versions of it, including the most recent one. Other ones are not worth it.

The hilarious thing is, Bill lost either way. While Bill needs someone else to help him escape his home dimension, Discord does not have that kind of restriction on him. In fact, so long as there is Chaos in any sense, he can can return. So Bill loses if he loses and loses if he wins.

i'd say its more of a draw, bill killed discord and definitely will get out its just a matter of time. and discord definitely PHUCKED bill over hard by using his tunnel vison from the start of the battle. both will comeback but it will be alot harder for bill then discord, as discord has a back up in chaos land, with a piece of his soul in it. i'd give him a few weeks to a year and discord will be back. bill on the other hand who knows how long that will take, it could be a day or another 1000+ years.

You know its funny. Ben Singer has been quoted on many occasions that the best episodes that illustrate what Death Battle is all about, is the My Little Pony ones. Because what better way to advertise your show by taking a traditionally harmless and child friendly concept, look at all the gratuitous violence within it and put said characters in a fight to the death? I agree with him. Because when you think "Death Battle", your mind doesn't automatically go to My Little Pony. Yet it works cause its exactly what the show's about. Serendipitous if you ask me.

And yet, every time it happens, the pony side of things never ends up killing anyone. G1 Starscream can live on as a spark and wouldn't be affected by being eaten. Pinkie Pie got paired with Deadpool and they threw the 'Death' part of 'Death Battle' out the window. Twilight lost her battle and we never actually saw a body either. And if it's canon with this battle, she and Raven beat the hosts again by *surviving* her battle. And finally, Discord beat Bill Cypher the exact same way he was beaten before. not with the mindscape burning down but by taking advantage of Bill's tunnel vision and his TERRIBLE SA when he thinks he's in a winning spot, all via a sacrifice play (which means he threw the fight but won the war). As Commodore Tagon would say, the moment where you think you're going to win is when you're about to lose.

This might be my favorite death battle of all time not just because of the set and tone of the fight just fits these to characters so well, but there’s so many blink and you’ll miss it moments going on in the background references to other shows and characters in every creative little segment. Bill turning into an imposter crew mate in claymation, Cuphead and Bendy from bendy and the inc machine spotted in the rubber hose animation, and and community members names in Bill’s analysis and in the background when gravity is distorting. I keep rewatching this episode to keep analyzing every frame I spot another cool detail.

When your fan base has had multiple provable incidents of people acting that way, you're unfortunately associated with them. You either leave the fan base to not be associated with the darker parts of it, or you just expect to put up with having to tell people "oh but I'm not like those other people."

This is a loss o can accept gladly. Was rooting for Discord since it was first announced, but i cant be mad he lost. I knew his arrogance and lackadaisical attitude was a big weakness, so it makes sense for Bill to take advantage of that. Plus, he still trapped bill back in the nightmare realm, so he got his last laugh And that DOES put a smile on my face

Bill won the battle, Discord won the war, but both are not gone forever. Didcord is the embodiment of Chaos and will eventually reform, and Bill will eventually escape the Nightmare realm. One of the popups clarified that unicorn hair itself isn't an actual weakness of Bill's, it's just an ingredient for a spell designed to protect against Bill and his powers. There are actual unicorns in Gravity Falls that they go to, and I doubt they were spared from Weirdmageddon. It's just the only one we call special attention to because there was an episode all about getting a hair from a unicorn.

Bruh judging FiM by the previous interactions of MLP is like pre judging DBZ by only reading Dr Slump. One gives you no real insight into the next. Hell that’s not even a good example because toriyama made both of those, where each version of mlp is a whole new creative team. If Friendship is Magic had humans as the medium instead of ponies, there wouldn’t be any cause for the ridiculous criticism. At its core, the show teaches acceptance, emotional awareness, life-lessons, and camaraderie. Wish more people could see that and learn those lessons.

Aight, like, I'm fine with not wanting to watch MLP, but only if you give it a chance first. I know, mushy friendship and girly horses aren't for everyone. But I say, with full sincerity, that MLP has some of the most compelling character arcs and profound life lessons of any cartoon. And, if that's not your style, it has dynamic action too. Don't believe me? Watch basically any season premiere or finale and you'll see some incredible visuals. I recommend the Season 4 Finale, for anyone interested. Shit gets Dragon Ball Z level, I kid you not.

dude mlp started off as a kids show but grew only stronger as they saw who watched it, which was more adults so they made the show more towards adults while still keeping it pg13 ofc. while i think Gravity falls always catered only towards children with deeper meaning, i do think you shouldnt judge a book by its cover thinking MLP is some bland kids show. cause it def aint that. Reasons why it got SO huge and popular was cause a larger variety of folks enjoyed the show and still does to this day.

I've debated this match so many times. I'm of the opinion that both could easily beat the other. But everyone I've talked to say it's one-sided in Cole's favour because of Alex's weakness to electricity. Even though it's been shown he adapted to it later.

@@goliathxanatos706 it’s not just the weakness to electricity I’d say the biggest difference between the two is the scope of their enemies. Alex is more than capable of causing the apocalypse by spreading his infection zombie style. But Cole had to fight The Beast, a being whose very existence began the apocalypse, just from standing in the city it was in everything was starting to be destroyed and Cole was able to hold his own against it until they had to use the Ray Field Inhibitor to destroy it.

I still think there are more ways to make this fight even such as Alex gaining some of Cole's biomass to essentially become just as powerful as him given how the virus assimilates cellular structures and makes a nigh infinite number of strands of itself. Alex could just summon legions of his infected and sneck attack Cole to gain that advantage. But at the same time Cole could just nuke the area. So there's multiple ways the fight could go down.

You know guy's, it's really weird to judje one generation of MLP based on the others. It's like judging Star Wars based on prequels, or Transformers Prime based on Energon. I watched and like both MLP and GF, and I cab really say that best of G4 MLP is something equal or better than best of Gravity Falls. Love-story of dead parents, multiversal time shinanigans, episode about a veiled su&cide and problems of outliving your best part of life (quote "I want to be remember as a hero a was, not a disappointment I've become" still pops up in my head from time to time) is not something you can find in a lot of modern cartoons, especially done as well as in MLP.

My only issue is they kinda ignore how it works when Bill is in a mind being erased. Sure, Discord trapped him in his own mind and started erasing it so that might be different, but when in a mind being destroyed he was NOT able to use his powers, at all. So i kinda wish they would have focused on why he was able to use his powers while trapped in his mind while it was being erased, instead of the point of that originally working cause of his tunnel vision, since that does not explain that part at all

Once he got over the initial shock of Discord trying to invade HIS mind and kill him the same way the Pines bros did, he promptly fished Discord out of his mind, entombing him in a mini-prison bubble for good measure.

they did you just weren't paying attention, go back to the point before bill shoved discord into the madness bubble. "when the world was flipped upside down, when discord snapped his fingers and when they come back out, its right-side up now and the X in the sky isn't red anymore. meaning discord recreated it from scratch off of memory in the nightmare realm." even the note he first writes is on the ground in front of fluttershy. bill was playing in discords palm from the start of the fight, discord knew he couldn't win but he could still reset everything back to normal and make it harder for bill to try again.

Look, its fine to not want to watch MLPFIM, but you seriously need to lose the judgemental attitude (accusing people of having weird taste for liking the show is judging people, and the bestiality comment is extremely unnecessary and makes it sound like everyone that watches the show is a zoophile) you immediately gain when talking about it because you clearly don't know ANYTHING about the show you're talking about. The fact you guys ALWAYS go on a rant about MLP the moment you decide to watch anything involving MLP gets old fast. Friendship Is Magic was fundamentally different from the previous "generations" of MLP. It has good writing. It has meaningful lessons and dark subject matters. There are literally episodes about racism, suicide, and the butterfly effect.

About the music. It’s mainly because Death Battle works for Rooster Teeth which is an actual company. The people who made the music which is Therewolf and Brandon Yates (he made this track) don’t technically work for those guys but they get paid to make them like a commission except more business-like because they make it more original so it’s licensed. Brandon and Therewolf actually can’t upload the tracks on KZfaq until they are given permission from Death Battle/Rooster Teeth.

Easily one of tge best episodes for the animation alone. For the record, Discord CAN'T do anything he wants. In an episode where he tries to act normal so he doesn't scare off Fluttershy coming over to tea, he not only loses his zaniness, he starts to fade away. Bill can do anything, normally. Discord can do anything BUT normal. That said, MLP having John de Lancie (ie, Q from Star Trek TNG) voice him was absolutely inspired!

Im not gonna try to convince you to give MLP a chance... but i will say that the show (specifically the fourth generation show called "Friendship is Magic") does tackle more mature themes and stories than what is usually intended for it's target demographic. The characters are also a lot more nuanced than what you would expect and not just one-dimensiaonal, and a world/lore which is genuinely well-crafted and interesting to follow if you take the time to dissect it. Like i said im not trying to convince you to give it a shot, it is definetly not for everyone... im just stating why i think it is actually a good show.

With how quick discord can react and being a master at the misdirect, I could easily believe he threw the pie to blind him so he could silently snap a finger, clone himself, shrink down, leave the clone to battle Bill, while saving his friends and himself. After all fans know how serious he can be ESPECIALLY if fluttershy is in danger, so why else would he be jovial and chaotic during that fight? If not for him already winning. Also... Discord would not have killed him, else harm his friendship with fluttershy. But sending him back to where he CAME from.. Would be a good solution. We did see his friends AND that letter back in Equestria at the end, who's to say he didn't reappear FROM the letter after the portal was closed and his clone destroyed. Sure bill won, he killed discord but nothing says that wasn't a CLONE technically still discord.

Ok, so, you know how some cartoons get reboots & remakes? MLP went through that, too, like 4 or 5 times. Hence, bronies saying things like "Gen 4" or "G2" & stuff. The reboot that got dudes (& me) into the show is G4. The Friendship Is Magic one. The popular one from 2010 and got 9 seasons, a movie, & a spin-off show with its own spin-off movies because of how successful it became. The MLP you know of are the old ones. Those are pretty irrelevant.

I like Fluttershy. She seems sweet ans kind-hearted. And her love for animals is in terms of liking her just another bonus. But my favorite pony is Twilight. So yes, nowadays I like her a lot. That's why I gave her this little appearance. But back to Twilight. Her appearance in death battle her made her much more and interesting, cool and prominent. There were many great moments in her analysis which were boosted by the epic music like her turning into a alicorn, the comic panels of brawling enraged with some kind of black horse and it looked so badass, her getting the power of the elements of harmony, having a dragon ball z fight with Tirek who looks similar to Trigon to show another commonality with Raven, getting slammed into a mountain while screaming, getting turned into a human (She looked so cute😍, don't you think too☺️?) Just like I started to read the Archie Sonic comics because of Archie Sonic appearance I'm thinking about watching MLP.

As a Brony, I am the same way when introduced to MLP back in day when sister was into it, because she really liked horses. And agree those shows really lacked personality and every reboot did as well. As to gen 4, I seen some episodes from morning cartoons, and it is funnier compared from back in the day. However, for a show about overpowered ponies having relationship issues, it would be ignored by someone who has no interest in that sort of thing. Although, that is the interesting juxtaposition of 'Gravity Falls' slice of life being invaded by weirdness to MLP being weird already just dealing with slice of issues. Not going to pressure you guys about which is better. I like all cartoons. Just middle guy saying his piece.

For Prototype 2, I overall liked it better among the Prototype games, with one key major issue: They handled Alex's fall into evil OFFSCREEN. ...via comics of all things. That was a terrible decision.-_-' And it REALLY soured things, that one major detail. If that wasn't there to sour things, the opinion of the game would actually be considerably higher, but that was a major flaw.
