In today's LOTRO gameplay guide we're diving into the ultimate leveling tutorial for Lord of the Rings Online in 2023. Whether you are a new player or a returning player to this Middle Earth MMORPG, there are a variety of ways you can level up your character.
First and foremost you have the quest hubs that make up every region in the Lord of the Rings Online. From there, you have the Epic Book Quests (my personal favorite) that take you all across Middle Earth and interact with all of the main characters from J.R.R. Tolkien's Lord of the Rings books.
There are also skirmishes, missions, and classic dungeons via instances, plus the Epic Battles that were added during the Helm's Deep expansion.
In short, if you are playing LOTRO in 2023 you have a wide array of options for leveling up your character based on if you are playing by yourself, with a friend, with a trio, a full group, or a raid of 12 people.

I've found it is easy to outlevel regions, especially if you throw in task item quests and festival quests. Luckily, I'm an altoholic, so I send different toons in different directions, as on any given character I can end up skipping entire regions.

Nice. I just downloaded the game. Huge LOTR fan. I feel like this game is still giving off the same vibe as say, WoW in the early days, but they didn’t fix what wasn’t broken.

There is a mission hub in Trestlebridge, the west end of town adjacent to the Wildwood. The mission stable masters can transport players among four different hubs, one of them being Trestlebridge. There are mission stable masters in a number of other locations to make it easy to travel to each of those four hubs, for example there is a mission stable master very near the regular stable master at Thorin’s Gate in Ered Luin, and in Bree in the Stone Quarter. There are also mission hubs in Rivendell and throughout Swanfleet and Cardolan, accessible via normal stable masters. A fun change of pace which also rewards Marks and Medallions and pretty decent experience is Epic Battles. They can be played by any character level 10+ and all characters are scaled to Level 100 for the duration of the battle. Lower level characters are still much weaker than higher level characters but all can participate meaningfully and there are a number of interesting activities to do in Epic Battles such as building and firing siege weapons and issuing commands to groups of soldiers. It’s a really nice opportunity for friends and kinmates with characters of widely different level to do something together.

I recently started playing and I had no idea about skirmishes. I've just been leveling by doing every quest I can find but honestly gets kinda dull after a bit. So I can basically stick to the main quest and do skirmishes when I need a level boost?

Sure thing. Once you hit 20 you unlock them and you get access to more as you go!

Try to avoid doing too many under-leveled quests. Eventually, they will stop giving as much exp, and by skipping them, you can progress faster without falling behind on levels.

so, whats the fastest way to level up? and.what the most powerful class rhat can solo dungeons? runekeeper, champion, or beorning

I don't focus on fastest/most powerful, so you won't find those types of guides from me.

Not true that there's no group finder: Instance finder select instance and hit the create button. there's also one for quests: social> fellowing select a quest and create a grouping

It's not a matchmaker, which is what I was talking about in the video. It's not like SWTOR or WOW where you can create/join a group and it will automatically find other players of the appropriate class to slot into the group and then transport you to the instance. In LOTRO you can set up a group in that window, but it's just an advert at that point for people who are also using that window. That's not the same thing as a matchmaking groupfinder.

A lot of rambling without any real "guide" to leveling. Just saying this gives exp, ramble ramble, this gives exp, ramble ramble, etc. This would not help any new player. Yes, I am saying this as an experienced player, but can tell that people are searching "leveling guide" not for finding out how to get exp in the game, just how to get exp faster.

@Renfail nice. Be an asshole when legit critique is given. You are welcome, I did watch the entire video despite it being too long and not being what the title states in the slightest. Instead of getting upset, take in what was said and understand what was being said. It seriously has nothing to do with guiding people through the leveling process and you call it the ultimate leveling guide. That's just click baiting.

You clearly had a really, really bad day or week. This video is perfect and exactly what I'd expect from a content creator making a guide for a game from 2007. You're clearly upset or angry about something else that happened in your life and have come here projecting your anger, unnecessarily. I hope whatever went wrong in your life has gotten better and you are no longer this angry and bitter.

@@coreywho2972 I'm old and back always hurts so I'm always having a bad day lol. I was confused as to what this reply was even about and was amazed it was from something said 8 months ago. I still stand by my comments, it's an honest critique on something I found utterly annoying and unhelpful. Now you are entitled to your opinion and take it down the road about it's about a game from 2007, though the content created is more recent and makes that a moot point when you really take a moment to think about it. Nevertheless I appreciate your opinion.
