「物心がついた頃からテトリスというゲームは世界的に有名で、僕の幼少期を彩りとても身近なものでした。
その「テトリス」が映画化され、主演はタロン・エガートンという大好きなアクターの一人で、自分の歌声が作品と共に世界にこのような形で響く事を本当に光栄に思います。
また、今回歌唱した『Holding Out For A Hero』は幼少期から好きで良く聞いていた楽曲でしたし、いつか自分の声で歌ってみたいと思っていた曲なので、最初にこのオファーを頂いた時に即答で『やります！』とお答えさせて頂きました。
本当にこのタイミングで自分が歌わせて頂けて感慨深い想いでいっぱいです。
素晴らしいチームの作り上げた、素晴らしい作品の一翼を担えた事を心より嬉しく思います。沢山の方に映画「テトリス」を見て頂けるよう願っております。」

“The game, Tetris has always been globally popular since I can remember, and it was my childhood game.
The game is now made into a movie, starring Taron Egerton, who is one of my favorite actors.
I am truly honored that my voice will be heard by people around the world along with the film.
Also, ‘Holding Out For A Hero’, the song that I did a cover for the film, is actually my favorite song since I was a child and I used to listen to it a lot.
I had always wanted to sing this song with my own voice, so when I first got the offer, I immediately said, "I'll do it!.” I am extremely overwhelmed that I was given the opportunity to cover this song.
I am very happy to be a part of such a wonderful work created by a wonderful team.
I hope that many people enjoy the film, Tetris.”

If I had a nickel each time a movie about a videogame had this song in it, I'd have 2 nickels. Which isn't a lot but it's weird it happened around the same time.

if i had a nickel for each time a non-english version of Holding Up For A Hero played durig the climax of a film i'll also had 2 nickels. wich is not much but it's even stranger that this happened twice.

I said non english versions playing during the climax of the film... The Super Mario movie uses the original version of holding up for a hero. And it's during a training montage. Shrek 2 may count if you're watching an international version since they also dubbed the song in some languages.

Epic. This and the Russian cover by Paolina which plays during the car chase scene are fastastic. Edit: thought this version was playing during the car chase. Look up 'holding out for a Hero Paolina' for the Russian version that played there.

@@RhythmGrizz I know. I've already replied to the first person to correct me. I've edited my comment too. I didn't realise there were two versions. Apple TV went to another show before the credits rolled to the songs used in the movie. Watching the car chase again I realised that they were singing Russian, the start just sounds so much like the Ren cover.

Padající kostičky. Jo, na to se pamatuju moc dobře. Najednou se to objevilo a moje vlastní máma mi vzala konzoli s Tetrisem do ruky - ani nevím co to bylo za verzi a pak už jsem její rekord nikdy nepřekonal. Jo na tetris si pamatuju. Hrál jsem ho i na ZX Spectru, na PC taky. Tetris nás naučí skládat věci do kufru tak, aby nezbylo ani kousek místečka volného. Jsem s ním spojen už od dětství. Jedna z vůbec prvních videoher, co jsem hrál. Zrovna jsem začal chodit do školy a kdo měl Tetris, byl králem třídy.

If I had a nickle for every movie featuring japan, russian antagonists, and a japanese version of Holding Out for a Hero released in the 2020's... I'd have two nickles. Not a whole lot, but it's weird that that there're two films that have this oddly specific intersection.
