We raised our 3 children with mostly hanging together. We lived in the country with almost no internet therefore, no computers, no TV, no cell phones. Just being together and doing creative things. I think if they start off like that or if it becomes that, it works. Both parents are scientists.

My parents were crazy in love and they decided to tow my 2 sisters and me all throughout the USA. We would move every couple of months, one year we moved 9 times. I did really well in school, my sisters struggled. It all ended in 1975 when I graduated from High School and they settled down in Fort Collins, Colorado, I went to school in Boulder...and they have been there ever since. So, when I see your kids...I think to myself: they have a unique opportunity to see the USA as not many will be able to do. When I saw your kids, and the love you share, my first thoughts were: these kids have a great chance to do whatever they want to do, unRESTRICED by norms, vagaries of the crowd, unafraid to take that other path where few dare to go...but its your love for each other tha impresses me the most...also the good portion of cheese mom popped on that taco..damn...made me hungry...happy trails!!!!

Airstream IS the Cadillac of RV's. My husband and I had two of them in the 1990's. When he was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease in 1996, traveling became quite difficult and our time with RV-ing came to a halt in 2000. I often think about how much fun we had traveling and wish those days could return.

We live in our 34 ft airstream with our daughter and our dog, and idk how they do it, bc almost 2 years in and this quarantine is making me lose my mind. We are also stationary so that doesn't help...but airstream living is not for everyone, that's for sure. I can't wait for our tiny house to be built.

What a dream! Love that power center!!! You know, parenthood is a funny thing.....we are never quite prepared for it....when I got married & began having children I wanted four! After two I realized my life wasn’t cut out for that dream. I ended up with the wrong partner and divorcing. After watching so many of these videos with families I realized it was a blessing I didn’t have four. I wasn’t cut out for it. I reflect back and see how many “mistakes” I made because of the amount of stress I allowed into my life. Sometimes I wish I could have a do-over 🥴. My daughters are wonderful human beings and turned out fine at 26 & 28....but I would’ve loved to have gone this route!! I had even dabbled in home-schooling....but single parenthood has enough challenges of its own. I have a ton of respect for you accomplishing your dream and seemingly killing it!! Congratulations!! Thanks much for an awesome & inspiring video!! Lauri

Windkisssed I understand completely. I wanted four children but after two I realised how hard it is physically (I have a back injury). And I was never one of those relaxed mums. I always had to be organised, made many lists, and had to have a tidy clean house which just stressed me out more. I LOVE my children, they are my life, but two was enough. I’m sorry to hear about you and your husband divorcing.

Windkissed, everyday is a new day and a chance for a do-over. Make goals and reach for them. Sounds like you did a great job with your two kids, I have only one kid and my husband and I quickly realized it was enough for us. But now, (he's 23) I feel it might have been a bit selfish not to give him siblings... we all make choice that seemed right at the time.

@@akshayanandakumar I'm a lawyer working in a corporate non-profit, I don't go to court, I do mostly research, writing, and transactional work in-house only and already handle most of my work calls and meetings remotely. I'm half-tempted to hit the road! No one has ever tried it in my company that I know of, probably because there are too many variables, but it would be interesting to wake up and work in a new city every week. I'm sure I could pull this off at the right time and with the right motivation.

@@akshayanandakumar Not sure if this will help but my husband works full-time from home. He is a software developer and has been working for the same company for about 17 years. The first half of his career was spent in the office. Then he made a case for working from home and they went along with it. A few other employees in the company did the same. Now, with the pandemic, the company is thrilled to have had work-from-home employees already established while they transitioned the rest of the workforce to home offices. Now they are talking about making this a more permanent situation for a large portion of their workforce. I think many companies will be doing the same after this crisis. It's in their best interest for so many reasons (cost savings, mainly). This pandemic does have a bright side and I think this is a good example of that. :)

You got it man, stay in your state at first, go out for short periods of time to see what blow back you get. Meanwhile find a place to park your rig. Or make it understood at your house your renting out, that you will show up from time to time to regroup to manage affairs at the office for a day or two.

*+Saddle Tramp* If I was to have any reason to thumbs down, it would be because of the fact that they have four children and how insular their life is. Yes, they get to visit some shit hot places but there's no personal friendships outside the family. I have to wonder about the standard of schooling as well. However, I don't know enough about them, and they don't look like tripped out fundy xtians, so I figure they're discussing the sciences on their travels. Imagine what it must be like for them out in the desert, no light pollution, looking at our galaxy, satellites flying over, etc., etc.,?

You mean the parents are. The kids are missing out on having friends, hanging out with friends, sleepovers, playing on sports teams, being in gymnastics, being in clubs, Scouts, all sorts of things. Basically these are homeschool kids on steroids. These kids will be socially awkward and end up not doing well with their peers in the future. So living the dream? No. It's just the parents being the hippies they are.

I have a 1952 tiny house. It is a Pontiac Chief trailer but it is made out of wood and looks like a modern tiny house, 8/27 with a tiny attic and a house-type roof. It has been in a trailer park since it was new and went through a number of owners without being moved. If you are ever in Southern California, perhaps you could contact me by responding to this comment. I would like to show my home to let other tiny house owners and enthusiasts know that their homes will last over 100 years. Mine is almost 70 now.

You have the best intro music in all the tiny house sites I have watched on YT and believe me when I say I have watched almost all of them! I always find myself singing with the music in the intro. Sometimes I even repeat the intro just becos I wanna sing it another time or 2 :)

I have a 72 - 28 foot . It is almost the same except I don't have the very cool top windows. Mine had a large shower added by the previous owners. I turned the 3x3 foot shower into a camper wet bath. I wanted the big back bathroom to be my office area. It is just me and two dogs,.

I would really like to hear you include - How people do their cloths washing. / How do they source or store their food when not near food sources. / how do they wash, bath or shower (because water storage and availability may prevent or challenge these options depending on where they are???) This would be SUPER HELPFUL to know Thankyou!!!!

Beautiful family, beautiful home, beautiful life! Their lifestyle seems a lot healthier than having the big house and two cars. So glad to see more and more families embracing this lifestyle and loving it! The amount of creativity that goes into creating a functional and beautiful small living space really blows my mind. This gives me claustrophobia! I would become crazy if I had to live with so many people and so little own space and privacy. Would be hell on wheels for me. 😂 But to each their own.

Yeah I was cringing when I saw the composting toilet shared by 6 people. But look at the payoff. They are seeing the country up close (something many will never get to do) and they're getting to spend tons of quality time together as a family. The social skills those kids will learn from having to share such a small space will help them navigate thru life, I'm sure! :)

@Martine ...but you have at least to sleep there, there are days when the weather is too bad to eat outside, ... alone sleeping crammed together without the tiniest bit of privacy would be horrible for me and being forced to life that way without the possibility to escape (bacayse6thats how your parents want to life and there is no house you could life instead) just wouldn't have worked for me. But the video shows only very very always very happy children so I guess it's ok for them.
