Fantastic vid as usual. Can't believe you actually built that brick wall! It looks so neat as well and I'm sure it's harder to do than it looks. I think the back doors will look nicer a lighter colour. White would make sense if all the other window frames at the back are also white. Light blue or green would be lovely to blend in with the countryside (sky and fields) around you, but might look a little odd if the other frames are white? Anyway, I'm sure whatever you choose it'll look just lovely. xx

Really impressed with your work ethic, and how you have a go at just about anything 👍 Maybe leave the doors as they are and just cover any scratches with a bit of matching trim or paint? The green or blue is nice on a front / back door, but glass frames always seem to be grey or white. Be worth trying a few tester pots if you can get any, to see how it looks before committing 🤞

For the door color, it depends on what you want to accomplish. If you want to draw attention to the front entrance, then use a bold color, like a medium blue. If you want to draw the eye to the interior, use black.

£2:18 per brick? if you added your time and labour spent de-mortaring each one, then you could easily be looking at £4.00 per brick, this is yet another false economy saving DIYers make. I appreciate that you do not have the advantage of buying from a Trade suppler, but even from the likes of B&Q, Bricks like your using would work out at £1.11 each, saving you time and money depending on how many you need. I once spent 10 days cleaning bricks for an Extention, cost in time and Labour £1,500, only to discover that a pallet of 250 bricks was £250 and I could of got the 1000 bricks needed, without the mess, hand bashing, brick damaging, hard work, involved and saved myself £500 in the process. Cleaning bricks should be a last resort, depending on how many you need. Hope you got a tetanus jab after siting on that nail?
@NickyandHarri
@NickyandHarri Жыл бұрын
Hi Panda, the specific bricks we need are pretty hard to find, where places like B and Q don't stock them, we obviously want the design to match otherwise it will look extremely cheap. We do make sure we value our time, and do buy new materials to prevent this long slow work where possible, we just wanted to give those viewers, who may be less familiar with construction, a bit of perspective to how many background jobs there are on a site to be prepped properly.
