Even though I'm in my 30s, I'm having a hard time renovating my house, which is maybe one-fourth the size of your house. I admire your energy.

Just wanted to say thank you Mick and Trudie for making me fall in love with Fethiye. I watched alot of your videos during the lockdowns in 2021 and me and my husband decided to fly over from Australia with the kids to stay there a while till the lockdowns ended here. We fell in love with Fethiye so quickly. So much so that we bought a house there! And thank God just in the nick of time before prices boomed. We started renovating our home as soon as we bought it while we were still renting our villa in Çaliş. The renovation took about 8 months to complete, but only because we had to get the kids back to Australia for schooling, so we were trying to organise renovations from here. We were desperately hoping to put down roots in Fethiye but unfortunately there were no schools that accommodated english speaking students. We are back in Australia but our hearts are still in Türkiye. I have to admit it hurts me sometimes knowing other ppl are renting my home while i am wishing we were there : (

Like always fun to watch and very well documented. I found your channel 4 years ago when I started looking into Turkey for a possible move and all your videos helped a lot. All in all the same year I bought a place in Mahmutlar and last summer I moved here from Canada and never looked back. I just hope things will stabilize a bit and the local population would be able to live a better life. Aside from this very happy with my decision 😎

Mick a tip for wallpaper which is dark colour, before you cut, get a pencil same or as close as you can to the main colour and colour in the white ends, the joins are much less visible, I’d get a pencil now and carefully colour in the gaps Trudy has spotted.
