I'm sure many of you can relate when I say that I do my makeup in my work from home set up area, because I am lacking the space to have two separate area's for this! So today, I am trying out a renter friendly makeover to combine these two spaces efficiently to work best for my lifestyle and needs. What is your favourite part of the makeover?

It would be cool to do a stack of two-three books so you could have room to plug in thicker things like the Mac cord while the book is shut!

It's refreshing to have Rachel in the rotation because Becky and Kelsey have done stuff like peel and stick wallpaper so much that they don't really do step-by-step instructions anymore for the basics (which makes sense!) but it's nice to hear it still from Rachel b/c I still consider myself a beginner. Love it!

A follow up with information about the heat situation in the book box would be cool. It looks amazing but I saw a lot online about stuff like this being a fire hazard (because of electronics and ventilation, or something). Not to take away from the amazing idea. I love the look!

Missed seeing you and so glad to see you're back in action. I love how the wallpaper transformed what started as an ho-hum piece and turned the desk into a stunner. I cannot begin to tell you what satisfaction I got from the precision of your measurements for the vanity insert. The cord storage hack deserves a chef's kiss. So clever!!

I absolutely love how you put the vanity on wheels! Such a good idea. I also am in a small space and use my desk for just about everything. It’s hard to keep things separate and not become a dumping zone as well! I’ll have to rethink how I’ve got my desk/vanity situation:)

I don't mean to be a party-pooper, but that height combo of chair and desk is ergonomic suicide. >_> You want your arms to be about a 90-degree angle, so you're able to rest your wrists on the desk comfortably. If you want to get your monitor a bit higher, you can always get one of those cheap tablet holders that has a 45-degree kind of slope from IKEA or the like to elevate it. :)

My first thought that about the wallpaper was that it was kind of rather plain, but now that I see the whole area when it's complete, it really does look really great!! Especially with the desk also being covered in the same wallpaper!! Those desk drawer knobs are really cute as well. The Book/cable management DIY Hack is a brilliant idea, not that we will be doing it. We just have a jungle of cables back behind our two desks, which sit side by side - both with PCs on them. There may also be several years of dust back there as well. LOL
