Here is a useless tidbit of information. I think 819 means Bike, or baiku in Japanese. I don't know this for a fact but the first time I saw 819 Rental, it's what that popped into my mind. Here's why: In Japan, there is a thing called "goroawase" which allows them to use numbers to write words with similar spelling. For example, Yazawa can be written as 830 because 8 can be read ya, 3 can be read za, and 0 is the same as a circle that can be read wa. In the case of Rental 819, the 8 can be ya or ba. In this case, it's ba. The 1 is ichi, or i, in this case i. The 9 is ku. So 819 is Baiku, and Rental 819 is Rentaru Baiku.

It’ll take a while till Japan reopens their borders so we can do it again as well. Hopefully it does soon!

Had to split the vlog up or else the video gets very long and draggy :P I must be lucky not to have encountered bugs so far. Probably because most of the places i ride so far is either in the city like SG or Tokyo. Too cold, like London, or too dry like Dubai.

One question tho Ninja 650 is P-4 on rental819 and quite expensive right? Im considering Ninja 250 but not much difference right? on the roads in japan cannot exceed 50kmh on normal road and 80 on highways.
@ReizePrimus
@ReizePrimus 2 жыл бұрын
@@BenseunKwekHongWei yea, the 650 was quite expensive. But depending on the trip you wanna do, its worth paying for a larger class of bike. The 250 is quite anemic at highway speeds. If you are only going to be within a city or the Tokyo metropolitan area, it is enough. But Hokkaido on a 250? Good luck hahaha.

@@ReizePrimus heartpain Ninja250 prolly cost 3.5k usd there to own brand new then rental is near 150usd a day, literally they earn back the bike money after 2 months. Hais i guess ill just rent based on terrain im riding then. So ex rental….
@ReizePrimus
@ReizePrimus 2 жыл бұрын
@@BenseunKwekHongWei not really, most of the money you pay is for liability and damage insurance. Plus they only usually keep the bike for like 2 years then sell off so there is a depreciation cost they have to make back within the two years not including all other operating costs of the business. R219 always have new bikes and they are well maintained. I think its already worth it compared to the shitshow i endured in London with the CBF600S, where it was only barely cheaper and they gave me a super worn bike that had a tire blow out.

Together with the required insurance coverage, and an electronic toll card, it came to about 21,000 JPY for the first day and 12,300 JPY for every subsequent day.

In common conversations when we refer to left hand or right hand driving, generally people refer to the flow of traffic and not where the driver’s seat in a 4 wheeler is. Because you can still have a left side cockpit in left hand travelling countries and vice versa, and of course motorcycles have no sidedness. (Except BMW bikes...) Confusing use of words but hope it clears things up.

lwzheng23 , its a joke among bike enthusiasts about how BMW will always put stuff on the opposite side of what everyone else does. Right side transmission, left side clutch, etc.
