We'll take on another contract, a mowing contract but rain is going to be a problem
What's the story?
We have nothing to our name, we need a house to stay in otherwise we're sleeping rough. I have activated all the realistic mods I can find but more importantly set challenging and realistic rules to maximise the challenge and create a new style of farming simulator series
Hope you enjoy
Going for a super Realistic gameplay, well at least a good attempt at it
Who are my favourite youtubers? Each deserving of more Subs...
‪@Scroft‬ - The farm hand series is THE BEST ROLEPLAY I've seen on KZfaq
‪@FarmSimSnowy‬ - The vintage experience or his survival roleplay on western wilds, both fantastic
‪@Urfaultgame‬ - Off-grid homestead is great but so is pretty much everything he does is, UFG's guidance and advice is the reason I created my channel and I will always be thankful to him
‪@officialbloodyfury‬ - Vintage survival Roleplay is great
‪@JamieAyling‬ - the farming apprentice is brilliant - new series
‪@MightyMikeFarms‬ - His "Flip the Farm" series is the standout which I have mentioned in many previous videos
‪@ArgsyGaming‬ - His new "The Travelers Tales" will be a big hit
‪@Daggerwin‬ , ‪@TheFarmSimGuy‬ AND ‪@MrSealyp‬ are just a given

Hello again Rusey. My thoughts regarding time scale, rules, and time lapses. Rules: I would caution against making too many 'rules' in the game. I understand the concept of realism play, but if I wanted real life rules I wouldn't be playing a game. Also too many rules starts to bog down the gameplay and it becomes a Rules Simulator. Fines/consequences for this and that gets tedious and difficult to manage. Set the base game rules at the start, keep them relatively simple and memorable, and leave it at that. The mods will provide enough restrictions/consequences to compensate for complexities. Time Scale: I would suggest that x30 is far too fast, even on 6 day months. Let's do some math - at x30, 1 hour of real time = 30 hours game time. This means in 48 minutes real time you burn through a 24 hour game day (24/30=4/5ths). So 12 daylight hours of game time are used in 24 minutes real time. In 3 hours-ish of real time (6 "game days" x 24 real minutes per game day) you would be very hard pressed to get any kind of large field work done, such as sugar beets or potatoes, or multiple fields with smaller tools. Take into account weather and your actual field time could be reduced further. Also, you can speed up game time but not tractor speed. In effect, your 6mph harvester is actually only running at 0.2mph @ x30 for [field completion]/[time scale]. I would have to go back and confirm this, but I also believe worker fees are more expensive as the hours tick by more rapidly. There is a very good reason why most content creators are hesitant to go above x15 and most sit at either x5 or x10. While I generally play at x1 with 2 day months, I did brutalize myself in FS19 playing OakField with seasons and 9 day months at x1 speed. This allowed me to just relax with the game and take the time to do a lot of self-driven field work instead of hiring out. I enjoyed it so much I played the map for almost 550 hours, and still go back to it occasionally. Time lapses: This is a purely personal view of them. I don't mind a 10-15 second time lapse periodically, and certainly not in every episode. Longer than that I prefer a cut-scene. I watch KZfaq to listen to the content creator and hear what they are thinking - the logic, planning, execution, problem solving, etc. It's about the story, be it thinking out loud or actual storyline, that matters to me and the creative effort put into it. Sorry about the novel-length comment. I really enjoy your videos and hope that you continue with your upward trend of subscribers. :)

Thanks, Chantell. I, much like you think x30 isn't ideal, so I'm thinking up some variations. I want to have enough separate days so that the weather is constantly changing and affecting what work can be done. It's a hard balance to find. I always stay around x6 ish on Sask, and it works OK for an episode per month. I'm gonna keep experimenting to find the right time balance 😀

I would not take money off for damaging the field since you are using their equipment for contracts, and you are not damaging out of carelessness. As for keeping it real, when on foot, I would cut fields when traveling.I haven't seen any "no trespassing" signs. So I would travel across peoples fields and ask for forgiveness before asking for permission. x30 time may be too fast. But that is just my opinion. I like 25 for property. Riverfront property is always a good investment.

Give a x10 and 3 day month a try. I found it to be a really nice balance when having to finish multiple tasks on a medium field with the realism of working only on daylight or avoiding rain. Plus, it will be necessary to have 3 or more days per month for Maizeplus otherwise, you will not be able to handle the feeding of the animals. I love your content, does not matter if episodes are 20 or 60 minutes long :). Cheers!

@@RuseyKZfaq Sure, no problem. It's not that complicated, you can still make tmr with hay and silage only and then decide if It's fun for you to add some of the new options to the recipe. The only scary part of maizeplus is that, 10 cows eat more than 100 without the addon. So start small :). There is also a trick. If you feed them fresh grass (mowed without the "conditioner" option), it will fill 3 out of the 4 bars, and then just add hay for the last bar. This is only for the beginning, before you buy yourself a feed mixer.

hello again rousey firstly you are absolutely right realistic combined with sectioned mods gives a beautiful view on the field secondly in my humble opinion you should not use the time multiplier at all personally in my opinion it is not realistic to play anymore i will give you an example of 0.5x real time , up to 120x acceleration (i.e. a day lasts 12 real minutes). The creators give such an opportunity to make it easier for players, e.g. when you finish work for a given day or month and want to quickly go to the next day, ok, there will always be this option in fs but when someone decides to play real, as I mentioned earlier, they should not use the multiplier, I personally only played and only on speed it corresponds to the realistic time in the game it is an additional difficulty because you have to work in the field (sowing, harvesting, storage, etc.) in such a way when you follow the selling price for a given product (root vegetables, etc.) sell the price if you keep playing on e.g. speed you can accidentally miss many important prices, one more thing, from time to time there is a sale of agricultural equipment on the map, you can also miss attractive prices that are beneficial to you, especially since you do not have a large cash(sorry for my english spelling) hope you understood by reading.

Regarding timelapse, I can't watch a pure timelapse series and that means there are a lot of channels I just don't watch at all. However, if you get a harvest contract for example on a really large field and you show yourself doing the headlands in real time then you move to timelapse for the majority of the work that's not a problem. Obviously we aren't going to watch you harvest or plow a field for 90 mins.

Just started out watching this series and it's nice to see your approach to things in FS22. A plus is indeed the realtime approach, although I feel that long jobs and certainlyon big fields might be better to be timelapsed or in steps (my personal favorite) in order to keep the videos interesting? But you seem to talk through it quite well, which is nice. The fields you did until now are small enough to "talk through" and not timelapse imho. Time will tell :) I also like the mix of roleplay and let's play. Kind of exploring the gameplay together is a nice touch. Are you allowed to use workers? That side mower is hard to combine with a front mower, I agree. But then again, you will always have grass left when using a front/back mower in sharp corners. I always try to go in straight lines as much as possible. So do the headlands and then the straight lines. It might also reduce slipping btw. I always use 1x time speed and 1day/month for field work as the vehicle speeds are realistic. 30x might be much as contracts with multiple steps can't be finished in time I guess. Mowing and tedding fields are done in a week normally, so doing it in one day in this game and with your settings feels realistic to me.

I prefer field 25. Down the road you could buy farm 98 and there are three other small fields in that area so will give you a chance to build out that area organically over time. Please don't do the tree field. Cutting down trees in survival has been done to death. So boring. Regarding time lapse, I prefer the cinematic style and time cut at the end, but I'll keep watching if the majority of your comments prefer the time lapse. It's not my preference, but it is okay, too. Great start to the series! Looking forward to more!

Thanks Lee, good shout on the days. My concern is the weather and lack of it changing. For example, if it was raining for the day and I was playing real time it would limit the jobs available to do, one real time day (month) could be 3/4 episodes worth of gameplay if you see what I'm thinking. Shorter days means I'd skip through to the next quicker and get different weather. It's a hard one. I don't like the x30 though. Maybe 3 days at x15 would be a good compromise 😀👌

Awesome episode 👏 the times 30 might be a little fast for the size of the fields. But i also think 15 would be a little slow kinda hard to say. I havent ever noticed any water after a rain on the map. But i will look again next time im on and being a console player should show if it is the map or not. If you are using the provided equipment i would not remove money for damages. Im not a big fan of time-lapse i watch/listen to KZfaq while i play the game myself knowing as fields and jobs get bigger could make it hard to get content for a episode so not doing the same thing the whole episode and on the other hand jobs like this episode were perfect for real time or jump cuts. And i also know it will all change when/if you get the main farm for the animals and producing vegetables or other productions. Just do whats comfortable to you to keep up the awesome content

@Rusey I'm going to get on that map later and I'll check. 3 but a strong maybe 4. Just going by the time took for that job mowing that field irl would be about 2 hours id guess. In irl I mow in the morning have a few hours to do other things and Tedder out the grass later that afternoon. Now that I say that 3 days would still be the same amout of game play as current. And it feels like it would be a good flow. I don't really ever add days to my months and run at x3 or x5. Alot of it is how you want the series go more episodes in a game year doing a different contract or job a day over the winter at 6 days or more years of game play having 3 days. Will loose less time traveling back home to sleep every night at 3 days. (Sorry long and all over the place. Sometimes it's hard for me to put words to what my mind is saying)

Nice, thanks for the knowledge 😀 Part of me wanted to replicate exactly that, but feedback seemed to suggest that just the one time was fine. It's hard to find the balance of a really really realistic series which isn't boring 😅

the other stipulation you could put on yourself is that you have to do the cheapest jobs first... to sort of make a "name" for yourself amongst the farmers as a dependable worker, before you can do the more expensive jobs!

Why should you be charged for field damage? It is not your fault what equipment you get from the field owner, so that is their fault, should have given you something more compatible for what you need it for.

Hey Chris. Yeah, I think you may have misunderstood. I'm a very small fish and couldn't compare myself to many others. I think you are mentioning the "I couldn't find anyone doing it, so I'm doing it myself" comment? That's in reference to the whole taxi idea, and I've still not found anyone doing it. It is important to look at other youtubers ideas, although I wouldn't say I worry about other youtubers. It's a bit like if you're creating a new product to sell, to maximise interest, you would research to see how unique your product is... that's what I do, but I've learnt everything from watching fellow youtube creators. I probably still enjoy watching them over creating myself 😅 I regularly talk about them and always shout my low-key favourites, making their way in the youtube world. I'm not sure if you watched the first episode of this series, which should explain my "different" ideas. Thanks for watching though, buddy! And i do appreciate any feedback. It promps me to stay humble and genuine 😀
