That DeVos has so hopelessly been caught in a lie, twisting her own words, or any number of wrongdoings that are juuuuuuust this side of being utterly against the law. DeVos then proceeds to to vapidly declare "no, that's not true." The two then go back and forth, outlining how DeVos is CLEARLY lying, DeVos continues to just keep parroting "that's not true." NOTHING, then, EVER HAPPENS TO DeVos... except that she goes home and sleeps on a pile of taxpayer's money. Honestly, it's embarrassing that we aren't rioting in the streets over this entire, pathetic administration. And DeVos is the poster-girl to get it started.

What Rep. Clark is saying is deVoss can not use tax payers money for deVos's personal agendas and income.

I don't understand why these hearings are even held. Betsy Davos' incompetence is shown on display time and time again yet nothing ever happens. She gives the most ridiculous responses after being asked the most basic legitimate questions relevant to her position as Secretary of Education. She really needs to be removed.

I am VERY grateful to work as a teacher for a low income school district that has been preparing since March, feeding 2500 kids a day via the bus routes, gave every student a computer and hotspot if needed and began coordinated online ed with integrity from the beginning. I feel a little worried but sure we will be ok. Not everyone feels this way. So here is a little info that may help: Funding Fact: The only federal funding that can be withheld from schools by the administration is Title I and IDEA. This funding is for students with disabilities and students that qualify for free lunch. Op: Sinking to this new low is an empty threat, and would require congressional approval which will never happen. Leadership Fact: The Secretary of Education is saying everyone should go back in school but cannot articulate how that is supposed to happen or how schools should pay for the many changes needed. This esteemed position is being held by DeVos who has never been an educator, not teacher nor an administrator, has no education degree so not even an academic. Opinion: Teachers DO want to teach and work with students in person, that is why we are teachers! However, teaching was never classified as a health risk before so that comes with conversations to assure safety and care not shaming and blaming. Models Fact: Several countries have successfully gone back to school after numbers were crushed. Teachers model and schools model techniques that work, that is how the education industry works. Opinion: It would be VERY beneficial for the Secy of Ed and her MANY employees to study these successes and provide our schools with the tools, training, funding and supplies needed to follow those models. Finally, it is not a competition, it is not political, it is not about unions. We all understand everyone needs to go back to school and work. Teachers are teachers because we love and want the best for the students, so right now is not the time for the rhetoric and not the time for political divisiveness. It is the time to share information and model best practices. We can do anything, with the tools we need. Get your house in order DeVos

I honestly pay for my education myself, I don’t ask for loans or financial aid... every class and every supply, I paid it out of pocket... I paid it, working as a server, not buy things I want, save all the money for college. I don’t qualify for any federal funding or government funding, but that it is not going to stop me from working hard and get an education. Yes it must be nice that they would’ve decreased my tuition this year since I’m doing school from home but they did not, they still charge me for parking, charged me all the school over fees etc... but oh well! One more year and I’ll be done and rewarded.
