Rep. Tom Cole, the House Appropriations Committee chairman, tells "Face the Nation" that although a motion to vacate has been filed against House Speaker Mike Johnson, "the reservoir of goodwill is enormous" for him among the GOP conference.

Shows you the senate don't care about the financial well-being of the country!!!! But the real problem is the two-party system. The party with the majority controls everything and that should never be. You don't go to Washington to join a club. And its why Washington as a whole has become ineffective.

I think they'll just have to wait for the "Trump rush" to come in during the November elections...Johnson will INEVITABLY be swept out for a PROPER conservative. We can't keep funding Putin and Netanyahu's wars. If they can't solve their own domestic issues, they DON'T NEED US. We're just destroying the value of our OWN currency.

Hopefully she’ll go protest in that park across from that NY courthouse and show us what real fire is. The move to vacate is going to get two votes. Hakim Jeffries will make up the difference. He won’t stick his neck out too far, but it shows that the Dems have a say. Johnson and his whips are going to round up every single vote so as not to be overly dependent on the Dems. It’s a win for bipartisanship.

It’s great that Ukraine aid is passed, but no matter what else he does, we know from his past actions that Mike Johnson is not to be trusted in the long run. Trump probably convinced him that that he’s in line for an upcoming presidency and needs to appear less Trumpish for the time being.

The fewer dem votes he needs, the more secure he will be and the less indebted he will be. He has committed to bipartisanship. It might lose him the speakership post, but it’s a meaningless title if an MTG can thwart him with a single vote. On the other hand, bipartisanship could restore the power to get things done to the speakership. He made the positive choice. I think he waited for a moment when Trump’s power is eroding, as it is during this trial. You can call that cowardly. Or you can call it politically savvy. It’s funny how people are up in arms about this interview. What did they expect Cole to say?
