Great video. A bit of advice. Take a 1200 grit sandpaper and rub the cracks Then do exactly what you did but this time use a blow dryer on hot for a few seconds. What that does is makes the glue a bit easier to fill those really small cracks then wait 10-15 min like u did. This also works great on car windshields. If you have a crack from top to bottom. This will fix it I also call this glue. Instant glass. Good luck. Great video.

Also. Use a 1200 1500. 2000 and 3000 grit papers and polish your glass. The friction from these very very fine sand papers will heat up the glue and the glass and will become one.

those gas station loyalty cards work wonders for this and lots of other stuff too. I snag a few different types at every gas station I can for whatever occasion I need, from jimmying my door to acting like a spreader or squeegee, can't underestimate the versatility of a playing card or various thickness and material loyalty cards.

This was great. Anything that stops the spider cracks is a winner. Those just continue to grow. They drop fine pieces of glass. This fix stops them. That is really cool. Watched a few of your videos. You have a nice professional voice. A great instructor teaching style. Have you taught anywhere before? Just wondering. I just get that from your videos. Great job. Look forward to watching more. I now have a phone with edge cracks. I just want to use it as a tablet. I think this might be perfect. Thank you. Keep making great videos.

You should take a heat gun or if you don’t have access to a heat gun then use a hair dryer, everyone has a hair dryer around the house. The heat help thin the compound allowing it to fill the smaller cracks and also makes all of the air bubbles rise to the surface. Without applying the extra heat the an epoxy, glue or other adhesive compounds you run the risk of not completely filling and sealing the desired area. So if possible always use extra heat when pouring a sealant or adhesive and you won’t have to worry about air bubbles being trapped throughout the glue, the compound will thin out and fill smaller cracks and spaces more easily and leave you with a clear glass like product.

Good video and results. Some advice though for an even better (less noticeable) repair) is a very important step that I think you completely missed. And one that is essential for a device which has been handled hundreds of times by hands. CLEANING preparation! That screen needs to be properly cleaned with alcohol - I can't think of anything else that would work as effectively. Not poured in, so it could get under the glass and damage or stain something, but rubbed in well into the damage and all around so that the resin will bond even better than in this video. Hands and fingers have natural oils and that will be ALL over that glass and in the cracks as well. You need to remove that oil film and grubbiness first.

Curved glass too 😥 I don't think this would be a good idea with a curved screen, too much of a gap between the glass and the LCD panel, I'd be afraid this stuff would drip inside, and damage the actual display.

Dollar General, package of popsicle sticks $1. I can confirm that JB Clear Weld dries clear as well. I wonder if thinning the epoxy with denatured alcohol would help it penetrate into the cracks. An acceptable mix ratio is 15 to 20% of the volume, which means that you take 15 fluid ounces of epoxy and mix it with 1 fluid ounce of solvent. Obviously 15 fluid ounces of epoxy is *way* more than needed. This would also reduce the drying/curing time, so one would have to work quickly if using a 5 minute epoxy. I have an S7 with a cracked screen and may just try it.

I must say i can confirm this worked a treat on my old samsung s7 .Its oldie but if it aint broke why throw it away.A little or scratch can just about be fixed 80% id say. 1st clear the affected area by wiping a little alcohol soaked ( not soaked !)towel and dry .The small hair line cracks can be rubbed out by feel and not appearance by the time you use the blade to cut off the excess epoxy .what i did different is that i taped all around the crack and over the metal edges so as to not smear it all over the place.I epoxy it but pressed the epoxy into the crack with a bit of pressure .i pulled off the tape about 5 minutes after the epoxy was applied (16 hour dying time araldite epoxy ) .I ran the epoxy area under the hair dryer for about 2 mins .and let it dry for about 10 mins after that .By that stage i could blade it out while it reasonably soft. I then repeated the process but this time when i once dry about an hour later ,i used used a very low grit sandpaper strip to rub the anodise'd metal frame to smooth out the dent on the metal next to the crack. Im surprised how well it worked .i even ran a fibre cloth to the clean edges and it didnt even catch on the cracked area . Many thanks tech minded!

You can also use a cigarette lighter in some applications where you’re able to articulate the flame safely without having to hold it to close to the surface for long periods of time, be careful trying that method especially when using flammable sealants, epoxy’s, glues and other compounds.

This is why you use B-7000 instead of this stuff. B-7000 is self-leveling, eliminating the need for the razor blade treatment. It also comes with a precise applicator which precludes the "nuclear" treatment as shown in this video.

A squeegee for screen printing works BEST. Available at any art supply store... And POLYCRYLIC (spray or liquid, but LIQUID WORKS BEST) available at any hardware store... That’s what we use to fix the glass on the BIG SOLAR PANELS at the farm... Also how I’ve fixed countless screens for my clumsy friends... But the plastic midframe on mine is damaged so the screen has nothing to stay glued down to. I really need to build up the missing shattered piece of plastic so the LCD can adhere. Any suggestions?

You can wipe off the screen with a cloth instead for a smoother finish.

If it is true, the 2-part epoxy is used to repair a screen that still works with the touch screen. Seal the crack so it doesn't break, but it's not a long-term thing. It's just so you can use it for a while when you buy the screen or another phone.
