Repair Fun With This Dell Inspiron N5010!

How did you upgrade the drivers? I only have win7 drivers!

What drivers you need to upgrade, they are automatically installed with windows installation. Just bluetooth needed to be installed.

Not worth it, you can get a thinkpad that's newer with faster components and still has good battery life, probably at the price of a new battery for this power hungry Deller.

Well, uninstall Windows and install Linux Pop_Os! 21.04 which was released recently. It's clean and fast. Your 10 year old computer will have a new life. Great for web browsing, listening to music or watching movies and other day to day tasks.

I've been using n5010 For 11 yrs now. using Android Studio, 3ds Max and CS6 without SSD upgrade. except Ram 8gb. Just do a yearly maintenance. But if you really need to have it better performance you can upgrade the RAM 4 to 8, CPU i3 to i5, newer Fan , HDD to SSD, Thermal Paste or Pad.

Should 6gb ram with ssd upgrade be enough or buy new one? Planning to install android studio and few other apps? Is it worth upgrading 1st gen laptop?

@@Ezio-lp8iq Depends on The Specs, your budget or the necessities.. 6 GB Ram with SSD is good but if you use Emulator rather than Actual phone it will slowdown a bit specially API with AR, Camera SFx and Garbage collections of Data in Heap allocation. CS6 , ClipStudioPaint 5, Maya & 3DsMax 2015 with Vray, Sony Vegas, CorelDraw 7, VB.Net 2015 , can run on those Specs. 8 gb is Recommended.
