Stiga Park Senator riding lawn mower (Refurbish the hydrostat Tuff Torq K46)
Today I will disassemble the hydrostatic drive on a Stiga Park Senator. The lawnmower did not move forward or backward. It also leaked a lot of oil from the gasket at the drive shafts
The oil leak was due to 2 worn out gaskets, and the oil leak caused scratches in the pump house
The riding lawnmower is powered by a briggs and stratton 15.5 hp

Hi! I made the rebuild but when i use the mower the forward end the backward exchanged?! What can be the problem?

Very nice teardown..and good info..my k46 suffers simmiliar (loosing some power when really hot). I wondered if pumps could get machined to remove marks..and you answered that question (i would hate to buy rebuild kit - costs a fortune ).

Great video. I have a question you might be able to help with. I have a 1990 Ariens tractor that is have a issue. The mower wont move forward and make a whining sound...it move backward strong and fast...just not forward. The belts seem to be tight, the fluid seem to be full, the linkage seems to be moving. The mower is in super good condition and hope to save it. Any help would be great...Thanks

Thanks for your documentation about disassembling the transmission! Am i right, that you filled it up to the top With oil? I Saw some other Videos about changing fluid and they used about 2 Quarts (2 litre). Thanks for your work and keep up the work and swedish talking in the background. Always nice to have friends around while working on engines and other things

Hi! And thanks for your comment. In this drive it should be filled with oil and then on the lawnmower there is a small container that shall be filled. Unfortunately I don’t know how much oil I filled because I used a pump. But any way this one should be absolutely full Thanks and have a nice day!

My mower loses power when hot to wear it will barely even drive I'm at the point where I need to tear down this transmission I'm not sure if it could just be a clogged filter or if maybe there's a problem with the axle seals. When I change the oil in it it was very very hard to fill up the transmission again because it didn't want to take any oil I had added a little bit at a time and it took me a whole day to get a level back in it I'm not sure why that was. Do you have any answers or advice

Hi! To fill the oil faster you kan remove the plastic plug as shown in the video, this vill make it in a few minutes. About the drive it sounds like the there are some scratches on the hydraulic pump or motor. Then it needs to be reworked. Best regards Tor

Jag har en stiga tornado 2098 från 2014 och har märkt att den är väldigt trögväxlad. Det är ju ingen hydrostat på den men finns det olja eller fett i den transmissionen?

Well, I agree that it would have been nice to see but it’s quite simple. It’s just a face honing machine with a manual pice holder. But I did it in the factory wher I work and ther is no photo or filming allowed So sorry about that!

If my lawn mover after moving up all to one side iand after putting back to driving position is starting to drive heavy and i heard the sound so it means that oil is missing or there is more trouble ?

It’s very difficult to say with out knowing what kind of gearbox and drive it is
