I couldn't find anyone in my area to look at my Samsung. I watched several of your videos and was able to repair mine. Total cost was $35 in parts.

Where online can I find replacement screen? TV repair shop said fixing not worth it....

If your located within the United States there isn't anyplace that I know of that sells replacement screens. It's typically not economical here.

So, my Samsung started blinking the red light 7 times and won’t turn on. I replaced the power supply and it didn’t change. Should I try replacing the main board or am I just wasting money?don’t know if I can do much else.

Did you check for image with the flashlight test?

Good repair Jeff, I was working on my vizio and got the diffuser sheets mixed up , would you know what order they go in? There are thick plastic one first and four thin ones. I did notice the clipped corners go together though.woulf appreciate some input .
@jeffescortlx3 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately I can't help much, besides thick layer first, the thin layers are usually notched or keyed in some way to only fit in one direction. You'll just have to experiment.

I have an industrial variable frequency drive that stopped working. No interest in fixing it. Work just tosses them because there is no one who fixes them, so I took it. Do you have any interest in looking at it for fun?
@jeffescortlx5 жыл бұрын
I always have an interest, but unfortunately not enough time. Typically the little bit of spare time I can find goes to fixing other peoples stuff.

is there a way to just replace the entire led fixture or whatever you call it? that looked like a lot of work n i'd like to avoid having to but some of them tools if possible.
@jeffescortlx3 жыл бұрын
LED replacement strips are typically available as a pre-made set.

In theory could you put better LEDs in this TV, and would that make it any better?
@jeffescortlx5 жыл бұрын
It could be more reliable sure.
@WilliamEllison5 жыл бұрын
@@jeffescortlx Only reliable, but not necessarily with a better picture or richer colors, etc. I know the resolution would be the same, but what you are saying is it would only improve the longevity/reliable of the LEDs?
@jeffescortlx5 жыл бұрын
@@WilliamEllison the LED's don't have control over the quality of the picture. Just brightness and white color temperature.

can someone tell me if this is a smart tv

No, it's not a smart TV.

it is going to fail again, due the fact that so many leds had to be changed the first time. the cause is break down of the insulator of the led strip to aluminum backing to ground. trust me , replace all strips. learned the hard way.
@jeffescortlx5 жыл бұрын
Your right. I usally make a point in TV's like this model with severe LED failure to replace all the LED's. Looks like I missed this time. This has been my bedroom TV. I have the backlight set to minimum. So far it's still going.
@raydabreau47035 жыл бұрын
@@jeffescortlx have to say you are lucky. had at one time, i thought was i losing my mind with this model ,where everything was repaired and tested, everything looked good , then it would fail in a few days or it would fail as you placed the repaired strips back in the set , new subscriber. like your content keep up the good work .
@jeffescortlx5 жыл бұрын
@@raydabreau4703 I've had my fair share of chronic LED failure. Some models just have bum leads.

I need to move to someplace where things like this only get tossed out, Around here they take them out for target practice....

Even some small towns usually have a recycling center. Or computer repair shops that offer electronic repair or recycling. That's where I find mine.
@Blazer02LS6 жыл бұрын
That would work if I didn't live in the hind end of the known universe..... LOL. Back years ago I did repairs on TVs/VCRs and other electronics. I've actually been watching you for the cluster repairs, I still do mechanical work and having the ability to do those repairs without shipping the cluster out would be handy.

That is actually an H5003 50 inch class TV. The model usually starts with UN, then the size, then the model series, then a few letters.

Samsung uses bad quality LEDs ?

In some models yes. But generally good overall.

ah right. I have another brand TV. An LG 37Le5300 which is 8 years old and always have used the brightness conservatively and it still works fine
@jeffescortlx5 жыл бұрын
@@maicod it's hit and miss. In some models the LED's will run forever no matter what the brightness is set to, while a different model from the same manufacturer will fail no matter what.
