Why would the utility leave the meter? Just pull the meter.
@gbryant261
@gbryant261 3 ай бұрын
People would short the bars with metal objects (usually a heavy nail) to complete the circuit thereby restoring their power. Also an open socket would be a safety hazard. When service is disconnected for non-payment, we would usually install a lock ring on the meter when it was reinstalled with the sleeves in place. @@antoniobiondo1509

Structural designer here, just letting you know to consider the ridge in comparison every single rafter must have a ceiling joist nailed to it, according to the IRC. Now in reality will it be fine, probably, especially on a small house like that

People wondering why they won’t just knock down the whole thing, I can’t speak for everyone but you wouldn’t knock down a good wall just to apply a new coat of paint, if the structure is good and you can make good with what you need then no need to knock down the whole thing, it’s cost effective, reduces waste, keeps a bit of history in place and just makes more sense. I love this channel and the ways of thinking these guys have.

This really shows how experienced builders figure out all the problems with old, out of whack frames, cladding, rafters etc. I also really love that you all get into it and seem pretty excited to be anticipating and solving all the problems. That experience really shows compared to mugs like me hanging my tongue out the corner of my mouth while trying to figure it out on my ancient old timber home. Love that you teach us bumblies as you go, got so much out of it over the years. Although, funny how my house still isn't finished! 🙂 Cheers and thanks from downunder. PP

The Dewalt MAX series tools are all interchangeable. The "max" tells you the availability of the tool or battery. A 20V will only use 2 blades while the 60 will use all 5. Plugging a 60V battery pack into a 20V tool will only engage with the 20V stack inside of the battery; whereas plugging it into a 60V tool, it will engage with both the 20V and the 40V stacks inside of the battery. SOME 60V tools will run on the 20V batteries, but poorly and only in short bursts. The better implementation is with the Dewalt FLEX series. In these, the tools adapt to the battery plugged into them. If the battery is undersized, it will limit it's draw so it doesn't overheat the battery. Both systems are to encourage Dewalt loyalists. MAX, you just buy a bunch of 60V batteries at a high A-h and a few at a lower A-h and those batteries can be used with any tool. The FLEX series ensures complete cross-compatibility so the included battery will also work with any tools you already have, with the understanding that some may not work quite as well; though you could also do the same thing and just buy a bunch of 60 and 80V FLEX batteries at different A-h ratings and use them in everything.

I love the work to save this rotten old house. Some of the best examples of architectural design, construction and engineering are when old meets new! Doing away with the north american throw away culture and saving buildings is a worthwhile use of time. Some of the nicest homes ive ever been in were 50-100 years old remodels and restorations. Its a lot of effort, and sometimes more costly, but old buildings tell us stories.

You kind of touched on why the rear of the Jeep sits higher than the front, but to state the point clearly if it starts out level, it's going to sit like a lowrider when you put the family in there. I guess you could add a set of airbags to fix that, or, you know, just leave the front lower. It's coming together well though, nice work.
