Repairing JL Audio 1000/1 slash amp.

I've had this amp for over 10 years. It takes a few years but eventually the sound in my W7 sub drops. After many attempts to figure out this problem i rounded it down to the rca cable contacts. I first had this issue 3 years after i bought the amp. I had to hit it in order for it to work. Then after months of doing that it stopped working all together. After checking every wire with my electrical meter and confirming all operations were normal i rounded it down to the rca cable contacts. After doing this i won't have to do it again for several years. The amp is mounted with the heat fins facing upwards.

I have jl audio 1000.1 splash series. I am playing kicker l7 15 on it. It was playing it so nicely. But since last few days. On little high volume like on 4 to 5 volume bass drops and green power lighy shut down and shut on... plz suggest. My wires are proper copper. Gauge is ok. Big 3 is dine. Grounds are properly fixed.

When you say the contact is rounded off what did you mean by that ? What are you bending to make contact ? Are you moving the positive contact of the female rca imput hole ?

I have a JL Audio 1000/1v1 Slash series question about random loss of output. Or if anyone can answer this for me. After a certain frequency played over a short time, it won't get over 67v of output. With nothing connected, I can get over 67v AC until a reactive load is on it and it will just clamp down to 67v and won't give higher AC Voltage when disconnected. Their required output at 2 ohms is 44.7v AC on the output, but it will clamp down to 34v AC when the load is applied and when the Input is raised, nothing changes.

Is your low/ high input switch working . I just pulled my 500 slash and cleaned all the pots and switches. I also cleaned , per friend's instructions all the pins and sockets for the preamp board or what some call the daughter board. I was also getting some volume drops. I do think my ppi par225 was the issue but this is a fix for the jl of it was the problem . I also watched a video where the line voltage can drop on the preamp board due to some 10 ohm resistors in various spots . That could be another issue . It's been 8 months since your post . I'm curious what you found . Also my slash at 2 ohms runs at 31.6 volts i believe tunning flat . With with eq dials turned up i don't get over 65 volts

My jl1000/1 has not output what so ever . I would think that if there was a a problem with any input or output transistor it’ll light up a protection light . I think jl diagnostic system on these amp sucks . Even the old ppi art series if you remove a rca after the amp is working it’ll trigger it into protect mode .

Question of clarification. Are you saying your sub would just stop playing sound, but you had a good green light? Then randomly sound would come back, and your fix here was the solution? I ask bc the other day for the first time my subs just stopped, no reason, power was fine. Today they just came back on. Then when I was looking around for any issues the sub sound went out, hadn’t move the car.

@@DJ-kb3pl for me, thus far, turned out to be a tuning issue between the new hu and amp with them competing over the signal. Once adjustments were made everything plays normal again. MTF if issue resurfaces.
