I missed the opportunity to buy one of these locally last year. It sat on FB marketplace for like 3 months. Upstairs in some cranky woman’s house. Between her and my wife, by the time I talked her into a reasonable price, she decided to keep it. Even though it was broke.

There's nothing quite like the old Williams system 4 and system 6 machines! So much fun to play and such good flow. This one reminds me a lot of the Stellar Wars I just recently restored. Kinda quirky and strange. But my favorite feature they all have in common is the custom designs engraved into the pop bumper covers.

@ Ron SUPER LUBE STORY - A year ago I needed to replace my car battery & I noticed a little corrosion on the cables. I was going to pull my old gas station trick & smear wheel grease on them & then I remembered your "Electrical Wonder" lube. I just happened to have a tube of Super Lube and rubbed a thin coating on the cables & terminals. I also place a thin coating on the contacts of ALL my battery items around the house (You wouldn't believe how many grand-kid toys sit around here). After a year I haven't had ANY battery terminal damage/leakage. Just a tip you all might want to try?

The back glass of the one you worked on in this video is just in amazing condition. I think the guy has really looked after this well. It's not just the clean and polished metal work, everything about the machine is just so clean and in great condition. It's almost like a collectors machine. With those drop target switches, you could clean them, then put a really thin layer of solder over the exposed copper to protect it from getting that surface corrosion on it again. I have done that on occasion, though I don't do it all the time. Not sure if it would make a difference long term though. :)
@LyonsArcade
@LyonsArcade 2 жыл бұрын
Yes it was really in nice shape... this was always a great game it's nice to see a nice example of it! Somebody contacted me about the drop targets (see what I did there?) and said he has a replacement solution but I don't have the games in anymore to try it in!

What a great game and I love the sounds. I can see how that background sound can get annoying. Apparently this had white flippers and rubbers originally to appear like lightning. Great write up on this game at Pinside. Stern Star Trek has that same upper flipper shot for it's Warp Ramp. It's super fun when you can nail that several times in a row.

I was talking with somebody about that the other day, imagine you make a game, it comes out, and it's too easy. That would be disastrous, nobody would make enough money to pay it off and then they wouldn't' buy that company's games anymore... so you're probably right, it was a way to make it harder!

You can install a magnetic microswitch replacement for the horseshoe drop targets. The NMP sensors are sold by Troxel Repair shop on the Pinside market place. I sure hope you can do something about the Williams buzz. There are online guides for that. I added 50 Ohm series resistor to my speakers to fix hum, The extra resistance makes you crank volume pot higher overriding the hum.

And I just two days ago cleaned the switches on my Blackout, they weren't scoring, but I didn't lube them, the lube that was in the workshop, which isn't a pinball workshop, didn't say anything about dielectric, so I just used contact spray)

I would absolutely love to do this myself. Problem is, Chicago, and the economy stop me from proceeding with my plans and desires. Where are you located, and how can I personally contact you for pointers and/or ideas? My game plan is to open a retro arcade/restaurant in the suburbs here in the Chicagoland area. I think the current generation would enjoy a true flashback to the 80’s era I/we so enjoyed. Thank you for all your videos brother. Keep it up.👍
