Күн бұрынA 24ft deck boat with 5.7 Mercuiser. Hit an underwater rock and wrecked my boat. Ripped most of the outdrive off and almost put a hole in the boat hull. Will we be able to fix this boat and get it running again? Lets find out!

Boat doesn’t leak, and runs great.

Gen one drives were made until the early 90s. Gen two are same concept just different design. One noticeable feature is where the rams mount on the drive off the bell housing. Gen one is further back versus gen 2 further forward. Check your drive serial number from the crashed drive should be stamped on the upper of the drive. Look that up for your correct gear ratio for the motor. I believe it’s 151 to 1 for a 350 and 305

@@danielfreeman7894 This was a Gen2 off a 5.0 engine. I know my top speed is lower now. Other than that runs good.

@@danielfreeman7894 Is the gear ratio the same for 5.0 and a 5.7? The boat is a 5.7 and we put a 5.0 outdrive on it. I know my top end speed is lower.

Why is there a hydrofoil and trim tabs? One or the other! They are basically fighting each other and will cause performance issues.

Pretty good video but the camera work needs some attention. Fix that and you'll have great videos.
