A group of former and current Palm Springs residents are demanding reparations after they say the city forcibly evicted them and destroyed their homes nearly 60 years ago.

It wasn't your land if it was leased land. You decided to build a house on land that didn't belong to you... Then that was a stupid decision. Its nobody else fault but the people who built a house on land they didn't own.

Bruh the land was own by native Americans who rented it to blacks. The natives wanted the all white city council to fix the land but refused instead burned the people in those places alive. You sound like you just say anything with no research read a book 📖

A similar thing happened in Indio, Ca at John Nobles ranch, the city destroyed their homes due to eminent domain and displaced so many Black families who had migrated from Texas, particularly East Texas Carthage. @abcnews

Nothings has changed Palm Springs, Cathedral City, Palm Desert ect. New construction built home or condo purchase you never own land lease. City of Palm Springs - Agua Caliente Inidans are both responsible. Property Taxes on New Construction sky high - First Year Special assessment, HOA fee range from $350 -$700, Land lease fee 10-20 agreement you have to pay up $20,000.

Reparations don't reparate anything. They increase division. Her issues are not explicit to the black folk, but they take the responsibility of being the face of equity on an empty promise.

None of my ancestors owned slaves. Many black Americans have ancestors who owned slaves. Why should I pay you reparations when your family owned slaves and mine didn't?

Hopefully I didn’t misrepresent your position. I named the riches man to ever live, and he happens to be black. Here is what I will say about him owning slaves, if that empire still exists and the people under the rule of that empire haven’t been made whole. Then they should go for reparations as well. The focus for this conversation is specifically America’s sin. So what is the real reason you are against reparations? Also, are you ok with Israel receiving billions from us as well as Ukraine?
