Repatriation Is Dead, let's discuss.
You can't just be repatriated anywhere or can you ?
I really want your expectations to be met if you decide that this is the type of journey you're on. If you want to be in a space with originals peoples and people closer to their history / culture and traditions, then this is for you. If you feel like your going back to mama Africa and the transition will be easy, then think again Sally😂
Lots of 'unsettling-in' that we experience is due to our expectation, we assume that all the peoples of Africa, know and understand what our experience is in the countries we are born in..Well they don't and when you tell them they don't believe you at first.
Also like I said in the video I got offended when I was first called Mzungo. But I understand on another level, no matter the colour of your skin, you're still foreign to them. The upset I believe is that you've come to the whole continent, you still don't fit and we're still call names, which is pants!!!
I actually have a whole podcast now, where you get to hear a different side of me. I have an episode talking briefly on my mission to keep Africans in Africa
check it out on all platforms
anchor.fm/azaniathinks/episod...
Also I just released a notebook on Amazon It's called Mind Notes. A useful tool, to monitor your thoughts and follow along on the podcast. Really good if your struggling right now with your mental health.

You are absolutely spot on Sis,, I was born and raised in Tanzania, moved to Ulaya 22 years a go and do visit Tanzania regularly. Though am Tanzanian but for just living abroad this long,, I always have to just to Tanzanian way of doing things and I sometimes get so frustrated eg as you said, a White person getting better treatment than myself, rushwa etc. So, if I struggle when am back home what about a Brother and Sister from US/UK that never been to Tanzania or in Africa as a whole!! My advice is to learn from the African Immigrants in your own respective countries - how did they manage to integrate into the western society and able to survive/make it regardless all the challenges and obstacles they have been dealing with!

Blissings sis ! Great video . We can really start to de-colonise the dictionary and its definitions because the English language is so messed up anyway. We can and have the power to re -define words like repatriation coz actually there is a whole narrative and expectation around it like the majority of words in the English dictionary) that is way too complex. This is a really an interesting topic of conversation. And the other topics you touched on, being called Muzungu .. when people of nature (from the west) return home although the innate connection is there, we are still foreign and foreigners and will still be treated at such. That's where we gotta straight up humble ourselves coz it's a whole next level experience.

You're awesome 'your face will get dusty'😂 I will bring a suitcase full, of paulas choice and dermalogica. Are you building a tiny house? I have 4C hair, extensions are needed 😭 I think it would be challening for us westerners to return and fit into a place 'place of origin' as our behaviour, attitude, etc is so different (westernized) and the natives see this. Even when I visit my parents country Jamaica, I'm treated differently,. I think that we need to accept that we may not fit in anywhere and to be flexible and adaptable. I'm moving to TZ as I have a job there, so I know why I'm moving to the continent. Also my expectations of myself. Yes I agree. Research, research, research. I did a mad amount of research before I moved Asia where I currently live and work. Great vlog 🤗

@@eldridgecooke793 I mean no harm really.. Just if we want real change idealise thinking (not you ) won't cut the mustard ... The true beliefs about what the average person believes about us, I honestly still chose my words carefully... Its a big piece of work.... Thank you again😇

Habari sis Did you consider JA at any stage? I loved being in TZ mainland and Zanzi. Felt comfortable, set up a business and all that, but feeling drawn back to JA (family is from there) although raised in the UK. Loved the points you raised.

Since the Atlantic slave trade we have become a new nation therefore we need our own country but many of us are not ready for it. Patriotism requires us to have our own language, our own cultural identity even if we have to recreate it. We are who we want to be. The natives of 54 countries are not the natural original people from those countries there have always been ancient migrations. Dr. Mumbi believes we should not return to the African continent united with our own empowerment our own communities she wants us to live among the people assimilated vulnerable and get picked off one by one
