They get no special treatment from me. If they hold up to my tests it's because they did their job, not from anything I have done. It's the only company who offered to send product knowing I was going to benchmark it to failure. I have to give them credit for that and the best communications I have come across.

i did not mean to suggest that you give any special treatment to Brymen. rather, the fact that you systematically expose the product to test conditions until something does break and make that available to the public has put Brymen into a feedback loop. as you say, it's up to them and they decided to participate and as a result the product hopefully ends up stronger. your efforts were a challenge they seem to have accepted. if the failure point ends up being stronger in the next test would that have been the case absent of these tests? i doubt it. that is the influence i was relating to. of course they still need to fix it so it remains to be seen.

Still think you need some kind of seal or logo, a badge (sticker) or symbol for those meters that pass. Could be a goldmine! Or at least a lot of free meters!

Sorry, it's not a clamp. I don't really have a need for a clamp meter like you would use for electrical work which is why you don't see me show them. The UT210E was an exception because of the 1mA res. Then it was just begging for some changes.

There really is no general answer. If you are asking specifically if the generators I designed and built cause any problems, no they do not. If you are asking if the equipment used for the IEC standards does, in my experience, yes.

i have a bm829s and love it. Had to return my first one but this one I have had for 2 years i think. I abuse it and it holds up no problem! Very rugged

You claim it meets very high safety specs but going to the link you provided, I don't see where it was certified. What agencies certified it? Is it certified for both EMC as well as safety? Do you have the report numbers? Post what you have.

There is no report numbers on the manual. The manual is more detailed as follows: Complied Standards: IEC61010-1, IEC610-2-030, IEC61010-2-033, IEC61010-031 Environmental standards IEC50581 EMC standard: IEC61326-1 Class B Withstand voltage 6.88kv for 5 seconds That's all I have Joe

I don't care what the manual says, without it being certified I don't see how you can claim it meets very high safety specs. Putting a CE mark on your product and adding some verbiage to the manual is not at all the same thing as having it certified. You own the meter. Does it have any marks on it (besides the CE mark)? The second link shows nothing about the safety standards. It's good they at least mention the 61326 standard. It may survive some of my basic tests but then again, maybe not.

I get your point! They just state that it complies with the standards and probably do the testing in house. I'll send you pics of the interior build design.
