Very nice explanation you did there, i have the same problem and i bought a new heater control and replaced it like you did but its still not moving, nothing happens when i change the heater from hot to cold, and im kinda lost now and dont know where the issue from

Very helpful - was about to order a heater core as thought that was the issue then came across this video. Ordered a heater flap motor on eBay 2nd hand for £10 it is a bit fiddly to do but it solved the issue and now both drivers and passenger vents blow hot and cold. Thank you.
