The interior door handle on my wife's 2014 Chrysler Town & Country broke. I was able to pick up this replacement for about $35. Hopefully this will help someone out and save em a couple hundred at the local mechanic shop.

I always try to watch someone take a door panel off before i try it on a vehicle I haven't worked on before. You never know what mixture of hooks or fasteners are there. I have broken a few and sometimes they are hard to find. Thumbs up for a good video with good camera view of the job. Thanks.

I'm about to crack open my door for the same problem, but I didn't expect I'd have to buy a new handle. I figured the cable just popped out. I guess I will find out today. EDIT: A couple of little zip ties will connect the cable to the door handle in a pinch. In my case, one of the two loops broke. The other was intact. The material for the door handle is extremely cheap and weak. I vote metal next time. Just another day in the life of Shmroad Tripping. Thanks for this video! It's a great reminder for my yearly journey into specifically the driver's side door. 😄

This is the easiest an most comprehensive vid I've seen for changing the inside door lever. Excellent! Mine for my C.G.V, cost £24.00 from EBay, didn't take long to change either.. Do more on other issues..

This video worked perfectly for my 2019 grand caravan. Same exact steps. Replacement handle was $26 on Amazon. Whole job took about 15 minutes. Thanks for the help.

Chase! Thanks for the video, but could you show how the second door card is removed. I need to change the lock, but I do not know how to remove it. It seems to have unscrewed everything, but it stands still.

was the old one broke? just the spring? my cable end is broke off not sure if handle is bad also

That was a bit extra. All you need to do is pop off the front of the door handle to access what you need to replace. But other than that good vid 😊

Is there access to the external handle from behind the panel? Mine seems loose

Yes. At the 2:32 mark you can see a circular section on the left side of the door. It has a cover/flap that you can pull open and you can fit your hand in that area to get to the external door handle.

My 2014 driver door is stuck in the open position and will not allow me to shut the door. Do do you think it's the connection to the door handle?

I might suspect the door latch first. The handle and cable could be the issue if the cable was pinched in a way that didn't allow the cable to release once under tension. If you remove the panel start with the handle and cable and work your way back to the latch. Interested to hear what you find.

The portion of the interior door handle that holds onto the cable which releases the latch broke. As a result pulling on the handle never engaged the cable and you couldn’t get out from inside the van.

@@anangelshero0410 the interior handle wouldn’t open the door so I took the door apart to see what the issue was and it was clearly a broken interior handle.
