these videos make it look so easy! Both my husband and have tried and it just won't open! tried using a spatula as someone suggested, why is this so hard to open??

I have tried push and turn counterclockwise, with and without gloves nothing any other suggestions would hate to call in a repair just for this

minticandi That is a good question… I personally have never seen it spin 🤷♀️ I honestly don’t know...

minticandi I actually took it off when I saw your comment and it wasn’t spinning, I have also changed mine several times and never really thought about it but I do not recall ever seeing it spin lol , but if I ever do I will let you know, I am glad I could help!

ok, may seem like a really dumb question but how do I know the type of # for this filter? I bought a house and the fridge came with it. Previous Owners didn't leave the manual so, I don't know the serial # for this filter … anyone know where I can find it? I don't want to buy the wrong filter. By the way, my fridge looks like the exact same model as yours.

Nora I am not sure of the model number but if you take the filter out and take it with you to the hardware store they can match it up, but the model number for your refrigerator should be on the inside of the refrigerator on a sticker, I also have ordered them online by searching LG refrigerator air filters, sometimes you can get two for a good deal and they seem to all be the same size someone correct me if I’m wrong. I can't remove it! It will not budge. Anyone have suggestions for getting it off? It will not turn.

Theresa Engurasoff it is a little hard to turn ... make sure your are turning it counter clockwise ..try pushing in gently as u turn it... it does not make a complete turn once it releases, It will kind of just fall off

Try using gloves, it helps with leverage.

We had the literally knock ours on the right hand side!! This is the truth of these filters! My husband read up on it. Back of a screwdriver did it.
