The rear Tire is easy to replace. I used big screwdrivers but it would have been easier with some Tire Irons sold on Ebay. One trick to inflate the new tire on the rim tie a 1/8' or 1/4" rope around the diameter of the tire. Tie the ends together and leave the rope pull out from the tire a couple of inches. Then place a board in the rope lope and twist it. This will put pressure on the tire and will make it easier to fill with air.

yeah... I do things myself as well.. i'm not a mechanic but lots you can learn here on youtube..like changing my radiator on my car and such.. it does saves you lot's of money, like Leonard said..amount of time they take, back-up schedules.. .then charge you hourly..ridiculous.. But I do have Yamaha Zuma.. my gf's Vino's due for tire change too.. so it's not that hard than I thought, I guess I may have to order back tire Ebay too..cheaper than the dealers!, I do my own changing stuff on it since youtubers helpers out there!.. Kudo's for all you peeps make video's for everything!

Great video but next time put it on the ground when reinstalling. You can use your body weight to push the tire on after you put soapy water on the rim and inside of lip, not the outside only. All that action made me sweat. Put a towel underneath to keep the scratches down. Thanks for the video sir.

You really don't want to lay the scooter on its side. Unless you don't mind scratching the plastic panels. Just have it up on the center stand and lay on the floor or on a creeper beside it. Then loosen the two nuts and take off the muffler and pipe. I like my Metropolitan too much to lay it on its side. Anyway, its an easy job. You can do it.

Easier and better to get a tube type tire and tube, lots less issue with slow leaks! I bought 2 new tires and tubes to replace both my scooters' tubeless tires, the back tire has been having issues lately with slow leaks. The tires are from 2011 and have 7,000 km on the odometer. Vee Rubber 3.50-10 Tube-Type Tire (154-110) 2 Vee Rubber 3.50-10 Tube-Type Tire (VRM 144) 35.99 Vee Rubber 3.50/4.00-10 Inner Tube (136-61) 2 Vee Rubber 3.50/4.00-10 Inner Tube - Bent Angle Valve Stem 8.99

Good video, only I don't lay the scooter over on it's side. I'm kind of picky and I am afraid to scratch the plastic or crack it. So I do it while it's on the center stand. Yeah, I have to lay on the garage floor. No biggie. It only takes a couple minutes to get the two nuts off anyway. I just make sure that the floor is clean or lie on a piece of cardboard. The plastic pieces on the Metro are not cheap. You would think that they would be, being made of only plastic. Trust me, their not.

The SUN and age will destroy the plastic on these things really fast, the first thing that usually happens is the clear or color coat starts peeling off, and then the plastic gets brittle and cracks. I don't know how many times Ive replaced plastic on my TaoTao scooter since 2011 but almost every piece has been replaced, one headlight front cover piece already had a crack in it just from shipping, and it broke completely when installing it. I replaced the seat twice, the muffler twice, the original battery lasted all these years but I decided to replace it a few months ago. It still has it's original bulbs except for the headlight which was replaced 3 times. It has 7,000 km on it now.

@@HobbyOrganist Yeah, the sun is really hard on the plastic panels. Mine is a 2009 and the plastic looks perfect as well as the paint. But that's because I keep it inside all summer and winter. When I take it somewhere in the summer I have a cover I throw over the seat. Like I said, it's a 2009 and it looks brand new. I seen a newer metro at the beach and it looked awful. It sat outside all of the time uncovered and it showed. Some folks just ride them and don't want to bother taking care of them. To them, it's just transportation. They don't care about looks, as long as it runs and gets them where they want to go. Hey, to each his own.

@@HobbyOrganist I have a 2005 - Red and Cream one... still looks amazing, but I keep it exposed to sun and snow and rain poor thing! (I DO cover it in the winter, but she's so abused, until the riding season where I baby her and detail her with all kinds of creams and waxes and polishing compounds. I know. I'm bad. But she is a HONDA!

brucespeed22 I replaced the rear tire on my metropolitan. I took it to the tire place in town. He had it changed in 10 minutes and it cost me 10 bucks. Tire off, tire on. Took it back home and bolted it back on. 20 minutes total. BABAM! Done.
