Replacement of the Belts on Land Rover LR3 or Range Rover Sport, 2005-2009

Land Rover LR3 belts become cracked and brittle. Avoid problems by replacing at 105,000 miles.
Watch Doug, our Land Rover Master Technician, as he takes you through the steps involved in replacing the primary serpentine and secondary tensioner belts for a 2005-2009 Land Rover LR3.
Using our kit # PQR500330SKA ( www.roverparts.com/belts-hose... ), it is recommended that the belts be replaced every 105,000 miles.
This service is also valid on the Range Rover Sport '06-'09 (non-supercharged V8 models without roll stability control.)

alex o'neal Hello I have and 06 but the filter is on the left side and the ac line is right over the fan cover is there a video on how to remove that one ? Thanks. Looks like the transmission oil cooler is attached to it of the same yearr but that one the top half comes off but mine seems different maybI’m overlooking something

Belt change on our trucks are on a Y6 which is on the six year service but I would stress that under extreme conditions that the belt is inspected visually for deterioration and changed accordingly.

Great video as always, the top tensioner off my V8 is really wobberly, looks like the bearings have gone. Caught it just in time.

Very good video and easy to follow. The only recommendation I have is please don't use the air filter as your work table.

If the nut doesn't undo as with the tools, use a hammer action SDS drill with long chisel. place it on the nut and slightly off centre to the right and it will loosen within 5-10 secs. Spent hours trying with spanners with loads of force and nothing. 5 sec tapping with a blunt chisel it was off. (great video)

The 2005 had the same 4.4L V8, Jag motor. So many seem to omit the 2005's

thank you, sir! (a “Tools You’ll Need” list including the socket and wrench sizes in the description would be pretty useful with all these videos. without it, we have to comb through the entire video every time to hear that info again if we missed it or forgot.)

Or, you could recognize what tool is required. You shouldn’t need a list, you need a tool kit. But also, this guys advice was ridiculous for the removal of that fan.

I recently replaced my alternator for about the 3rd time with a expensive Bosch. It died while on the freeway. Could it be that my belts needs replacement because a Bosch shouldn't wear out that fast?

I have a 2005 LR3 American model. The SCREW won't budge turning it clockwise. I've seen other videos where people turn the fan CLUTCH srew counterclockwise. Any suggestions?

Hi JayVee, at 5:05 Doug explains that he puts the other pry bar between the bolt of the water pump and the nut for the fan.

Olá, sou Rodrigo tenho uma LR, RR sport 4.2 fiz a troca do porta escova do alternador pois a bateria estava fraca de mais e apresentou inúmeros problemas no painel hdc fault, suspensão, direção limitada falha no motor, a bateria estava em 10 volts com nova peça trabalha acima de 14 volts .... Porém o carro após 10 minutos ligado está acelerando sozinho aí apaga todo painel de instrumentos mas continua funcionando, fiz um teste andando o carro continua andando porém sem painel e acende luz de direção limitada, troquei as bolsas de ar as 4 elas não tem sensor, não sei mais o que fazer

hey guys please help? I have tried everything to get mine off a 2011 Lr4 so was hoping you had some suggestions ? Here is my video hoping it’s clear enough but it even freaking broke my pneumatic tool. Very frustrated at this point. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/l9h2q7For8zVYnk.html I have contemplated cutting the dang thing off and buying a new pulley and fan clutch assembly.

Lmao, yah, pry against the nut and try to turn the nut🤦🏻you’re a nut for even suggesting that. Did anyone notice that they had to cut the video because of that technique he was suggesting? Lol Try an adjustable spanner or a strap wrench.
