Can you sometimes reuse a lantern if the area is not yet due to go LED?

There's one city where we do that pretty often, we mostly reuse SGS203 and Iridium lanterns

Spijtig dat je al die mooie lampen moet vervangen door die led verlichting...Vroeger ging ik als kleine jongen naar de straatverlichting kijken vanaf de start van de lamp (rood) tot oranje...Bij ons in de straat hingen de gewone TL lampen.

Why did you remove so many great fixtures and change them for ugly led ?

I get everywhere is changing to led but they are horrid and there where so many nice fixtures just changed to led

@Imakeelectronicchaos It'll probably glow a dim blue light in a few months time when the phosphorus coating wears off the LED panel...Happening all over.

It must be such a huge saving in energy when you multiply it by thousands of lamps. However the design of the LED ones is always very basic and they don't look as nice as some of the older lamps.
