We're trying to keep some of the vintage electronics out of the landfill. Many times when something stops working, it can be repaired if someone will simply take the time to attempt to repair it. This channel documents our amateur attemps at repairing vintage electronics we think are cool.
We don't typically restore anything, we're just trying to get them working again. We've found that most of this stuff was well built and with a little help will start doing what it was intended to do.

Love the old crank phonographs! We have an upright Victrola, a Columbia and a console Victrola that has an odd ball enclosure. Apparently Victrola sold their mechs to cabinet makers to build their own and sell. Bought it in St. Louis Mo.(across the river) and after researching the cabinet was built in my town in the 19 teens! Crazy!! Thanks for the video Ronnie! Getting ready to watch the 2nd one.

We think we’re so advanced with tubes transistors the old timers accomplished the same thing with metal wood and ingenuity.

Really if you start looking at enough of this old stuff, you come to the realization that we may be going backwards when it comes to tech. We can do things faster now but it's all built on this old stuff, and back then it all was new and evolved so quickly. The Radios are even crazier. They went from "No electricity" to "We can make our voices travel all over the world by bouncing it off the atmosphere!" in just a few years. Now we have Iphone 15.

Mom has this exact thing. Belonged to her grandmother I think. It's one of many derelict A/V devices that are on my long term "fix it" list.
