OMG you just saved my day!!!! That secret backing plate stalled what should’ve been a simple task. I was seriously going nuts not understanding why my seal didn’t look or fit like anyone else’s. Thank you!

Nice job on the video. Thanks for doing it as it was very helpful. I ended up using an allen wrench to fit in the slot and pliers to turn it to push the seal out. Worked a charm.

Thanks for very thorough explanation.I have water in sump oil and reluctant to take head off engine as it was only done ten yrs ago and engine is fifty yr old Lister so hoping new Jabsco seal does the job.

great video, gives me encouragement to give it a try. my pump is on a different engine but same parts & failure ( water weeping out the weep hole) . all new pedestal pump = 600 $ , repair kit much much less . did the kit come with any assembly grease, to help the seal slide right on or lube the impeller ? thanks
