It is nice to know that experienced sewists have the same problems as newbies. I had a friend call and ask me what was wrong with her machine. I told her to unthread it, take the bobbin out and go get something to drink. Then come back and rethread and start again. Always works.

I've made many of these not only for children with a book in the pocket, but my granddaughter chose embroidery designs and fabric for her 3 teachers a few years ago. Personalized with name and interest. We added a journal to each pocket. They were a huge hit!

I enjoy escaping into other worlds! Misty! Very cute idea! It would also work for Kindles, iPads or tablets! The smaller they are the bigger the snack pocket can be!👍🥰

Misty, I am in my 60's but I have read the best true diary from 1830 "A Gathering of Days". by Joan W. Blos. It received the John Newberry Award Medal for the Most Distinguished Contribution to Children's Literature. It is a great story. In it the one girl talks all about her daily life and true adventures, including procuring a quilt pattern and where she scrounges up the used clothes FABRIC (I won't tell) to make it with and how hard it is. She picks an incredibly hard pattern - for a reason-I won't tell ! It is her 1st quilt! This book is so interesting because it is new. They do SO MANY things we don't do anymore. It is a joy to read and is great for a young woman or to read to children. A GREAT GIFT Book for your pillow! I found it used on Amazon I think. Hope you try it!
